Waiters had a general funky attitude. Everything seemed to be inconvenient for some of them and most of our breakfast sounded like we were walking on eggshells. It was quite disappointing as last year service was great and we had few other meals at their restaurant (Abonora). But not this year. I guess boss type attitude is not a good look. I no longer live in Albania and l am used to some good standards but it looks like customer service is a luxury you won’t find in this hotel - at least not in the restaurant part of it. We compared other restaurants to this one and honestly we got great service at Kyma, Drymades Inn, Ulliri and Drymades Bungalow in terms of wait service. Management should step it up and try to tone down the bossy behavior of wait staff with customers. Perhaps they should also do something about the habit of smoking during meals. It is unconceivable to me that while l am eating, the table next to me to be smoking. It happened every breakfast.

Beachfront. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Reception and asian staff were great and very helpful. Room was comfortable with great balcony albeit a bit small for four people.

The breakfast could do with a bit more options. In addition, we had lunch one day of our stay there and the food was served cold. We appreciate it was busy, but we did not have the chance to raise it as an issue which would have been appreciated.

We stayed at Ionian a bit before the official season started, so we understand that not all services like breakfast or fully prepared rooms were available yet. That said, the location is absolutely unbeatable, and we always love coming back here. It’s a peaceful, beautiful spot that never disappoints. Looking forward to returning again during the season!

Staff was not very welcoming The hotel is another part of the abonora hotel, but we are not allowed to use swimming pool! It’s a little bit discriminating as both sharing the same amenities! They should include the use of the swimming pool even if this will cost a little bit more.

Great location, beach front! Breakfast delicious! Good room,brand new! Toilet needs more attention about cleaning! A little bit dirt in some parts! Need bleach, specially because is new, need to keep in a great condition. Not great welcome and hospitality from the staff! Not very sympathy.

Good location on the sea front in Dhermi. The rooms were a good size with a nice balcony to sit outside. We only stayed one night but it was a perfect location for the scuba diving centre. Lots of restaurants and bars close by.

I recently stayed with my family at Ionian and had a pleasant experience overall. The hotel's location is fantastic, offering easy access to the beautiful nearby sea. The views were breathtaking, and it was a joy to be so close to such a wonderful beach. The room was ok, comfortable, and provided everything needed for a relaxing stay. The only slight downside was the breakfast. While it was satisfactory, it felt a bit limited in variety (for one week stay) However, it was still enjoyable and served its purpose. Overall, I would recommend Hotel Ionian anyone looking to enjoy a comfortable stay in a great location by the sea.

The room was a bit bare basics. For example there were no bedside tables by any of the beds. Some of the fixtures were also wobbly. I've attached some pictures to demonstrate.

Albanian staff were the rudest people I’ve encountered. Very nasty and not willing to help. Although, the younger Asian staff were the best and always greeting us with a smile.

A big negative aspect (at least for us as a family) is the permanent and way too loud music at the beach bars until late at night. The unprecedented construction of the beautiful stretch of beach with luxury hotels hurts us as nature lovers. The water is still plastic-free, but we are afraid that with the young crowd of tourists and the careless throw-away behavior of the people, it could soon become a garbage dump. As we have unfortunately also seen in Ksamil. Plastic bottles, plastic cups and tons of cigarette butts are already lying on the public beach of Drymades. Very very sad for this natural jewel with the unique crystal clear water. Especially when you consider that just one cigarette can butt poisoned 60 liters of clean water!!! And there is no recycling system here for the Hufe amount of plastic bottles. Albania is a beautiful country with very helpful and friendly people! It is to be hoped that eco-tourism and a solution to the garbage problem will also find its way here.
