How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewI spent a long time choosing a hotel in Vlora, carefully reading reviews and looking at photos. The reviews for Il Bel Tramonto really surprised me — they were so enthusiastic that I decided to book this hotel. And it exceeded all our expectations! The hosts are incredibly hospitable, welcoming us as if we were their relatives or best friends. The room had a stunning sea view. Breakfasts and dinners were very delicious. I’m now recommending this hotel to all my friends and acquaintances, because I’ve never experienced such warmth and hospitality anywhere else. A huge thank you to the hosts for our unforgettable stay! We would be happy to come back again!
The only small downside is that the hotel is located quite high on the hill, so walking up can be challenging. However, once we rented a car, this was no longer an issue.

Verified reviewThe view was great, the staff was very nice. We also enjoyed the breakfast with its daily homemade cakes.
Nothing. Maybe advicing the guests who drive to take the second less steep hill to go up to the hotel, the other one is difficult to drive if you are not used to drive uphill.

Verified reviewStaff (the couples) is really kind and helpful
It doesn’t have a lift and we were in floor no. 3 which made us too difficult to take up our bags. We also didn’t get hot water for a shower for likely some reasons. Moreover, I didn’t like the location of the property as it is too higher than the center and the path is difficult to reach.

Verified reviewOur stay was absolutely magical and exceeded every expectation we had. This place is a true gem, and we're already wishing we could have stayed longer. First, the location is breathtaking. Perched on a hill, the view from our balcony at sunset, watching the sun dip over the water, was simply majestic. We had booked a sea-view room, and the panoramic vista of the city and the sea was absolutely stunning. Beyond the views, the room itself was a sanctuary—immaculately clean, quiet, and furnished with very comfortable beds. One of the highlights was the excellent homemade breakfast. We especially appreciated how fresh and lovingly prepared everything was. The homemade jams (fig, cherry, and apricot) were so delicious that we couldn't resist buying some to take home with us! What truly made our stay unforgettable, however, were the hosts, Linda and Tato. They are the heart and soul of this place. Their warmth and kindness are truly special. As they speak Italian, it was wonderful to converse with them, and I particularly enjoyed a great conversation with Linda about the Italian influence in Vlorë. Their hospitality extended to our whole family in the most amazing way. We were amazed when our six-month-old son, who is usually very shy even with family, went straight to Tato and was happy to just relax with him. Both Linda and Tato kept our son happily entertained, allowing my partner and me to enjoy the delicious breakfast in peace. It’s rare to meet people with such genuinely kind hearts. We left feeling completely refreshed and cared for. This was more than just a stay; it was a beautiful experience. We cannot recommend it highly enough.
Nothing - Not that the hosts can help it but It's worth noting for future guests that while the direct road up is steep, there is a much more manageable alternative route so ake sure your mavigation does take you straight up.

Verified reviewBeautiful view from our room, very friendly staff. Nice spacious room and bathroom. Variety of food served at breakfast.
Has a very steep hill up to it which was not a problem for us but could be hard for some people.

Verified reviewThe hotel is in a great location, offering views of the city, the sea, and the mountains. It’s clean and quiet, with very comfortable beds. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was excellent. We especially appreciated that the food served in the mornings was homemade and fresh. We had booked a room with a mountain view, as other options were unavailable at the time. However, I would highly recommend choosing a room with a sea view—the panoramic view of the city and the sea from the hotel is absolutely stunning.

Verified reviewFamily run hotel just out of town with amazing views and very peaceful. Breakfast very good too.
The road up was rather hairy in the first run but ok when you realised where you were going the next time. Very steep road and walking was hot.

Verified reviewThis was an amazing stay, the owners are so friendly, incredibly hospitable, and made a delicious breakfast! The highlight of our trip was drinking a fantastic bottle of Tuscan wine while overlooking the city at night. They even made us a hours d’oeuvre tray to go with it! The room was fantastic, clean, and comfortable.
The only thing to overcome is the hotel sits high on a steep hill - this is a big plus for the unobstructed view, but if you don’t have a car it will make access challenging. However, they didn’t let us walk after we were dropped off as we had young children - they drove us to their favorite restaurant and picked us back up!

Verified reviewEverything was great, the people who run the place are so kind and helpfull, the room was clean, beds comfortable, the view from the balcony is amazing, the breakfast and dinner very tasty, cooked fresh at the villa, the location is close to the sea, to restaurants and bars, just down the hill, the way down is a bit steep but a little fitness was not bad, the sandy beach with shallow warm water, the waves, the nightlife.

Verified reviewI stayed here two nights together with my 2 boys. It was totally amazing and beyond our expectations. We already had nice online contact before our arrival. After a long day travelling and driving the steep hill. We were welcomed like family. We got some refreshing water to relax and enjoyed the most amazing view of the sunset on the terrace. The room was cozy, clean and with a very welcome airconditioning, refrigerator and again a balcony with extrodinary view. The beds were good and the sheets and towels very soft and clean. The dinner (traditional food) was delicious! The owner very helpfull and friendly. The breakfast buffet was very extended and my boys even got fresh bakes pancakes. The owner helped me with my car (not a very good driver on hills and parking in narrow spaces). He and his family really treated us as family and no question was too much to ask. He showed us a alternative road downstairs, which was a relieve. I really recommand this place if you like a quite stay, away from the crowed, with a breathtaking view and lovely, friendly owners. I sure did! And would love to come back some day.
Nothing...well maybe the steep hill (nothing the owner can fix) , but the alternative road is manageable...

Verified reviewIf you're considering staying here, take a minute to read this review or just go ahead and book right now—you won't regret it and might even extend your stay! Il bel tramonto, exactly like the name has the most breathtaking view in Vlore, with sunsets that are truly spectacular. The host family is incredibly friendly and service-oriented; they attended to our every need and prepared the most delicious meals. We enjoyed breakfast every morning (we looked forward to it each morning) and had dinner there, which felt like a grand feast at unbelievably reasonable prices. It was delicious, family homemade Albanian food. The rooms are beautifully renovated, thoughtfully planned, and equipped with everything you might need. The entire experience was incredibly cost-effective—we would have gladly paid three times as much for such a stay. I stayed here with my mother, and both of us, despite having traveled all over the world, can confidently say this was the best hotel and stay we've ever had. We will miss the entire family and hope to come back one day, as they were all incredibly kind. Such warmth and hospitality are rare in life, and we are profoundly grateful. We highly recommend booking this place—it's an experience you won't want to miss!
