How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewA gorgeous family run hotel which was incredibly relaxing. The pool was great, the kids spent hours playing in it. The family were all so lovely and went out of their way to help us — giving great advice about where to eat, the best beaches and boat trips to take. They sent us off with loads of food for the kids and great recommendations for stops on our way back to Tirana. Highly recommend, we had a wonderful time.

Verified reviewIf we could give this place a higher score, we would. Everything was brilliant and you feel like you become one of the family. From arrival (helping us park the car) to check out, they couldn't have done more. The recommendations that were given were great (boat trips and sunsets) and they booked it all for us! The location is just a short walk to the main beach and the pool / bar area is perfect to chill. You can even walk up to the castle in 15 / 20 mins! Breakfast was exactly what you want. Homemade / fresh produce, served with a smile Rooms were well decorated and very clean. Views from the balcony were great too! 100% recommend. Wouldn't stay anywhere else if we come back to Albania.
Nothing.

Verified reviewBeautiful location. Infinity pool is great to relax in in the heat and has fantastic views. The family who run the hotel are friendly and will use google translate to communicate if needed. Breakfast was self-serve and had a good range of pastries, eggs and bread. Parking is underground under the hotel but is spacious and keeps the car cool. Situated slightly up the bank from the main promenade in Himare (approx 10 mins walk) but this wasn't an issue for us. Hosts helped us order food to the pool as well from a local takeaway which came quickly and was reasonably priced. Room was basic but clean and the AC and wifi worked well and there is a hairdryer in the bathroom. Hosts also could give good recommendations for food and places to go - we ate at Eteki and Piazza and both were great and had a day out at Livadh beach which was around a 10 min drive away. Great stay and would come again!
We had some problems with no hot water and the hosts dealt with it quickly and got an engineer out to look at the boiler. There's a few wasps around at breakfast but the host did his best to try and chase these away!

Verified reviewAndrea and family were very welcoming and always happy to help with recommendations. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty, really good variety. The pool is a real plus especially as it was 34C when we were there and about a 1km walk to the main beach. All very clean and well looked after.
The only recommendation was that the king suite have more utensils and items to be able to use the kitchen (e.g. kettle, coffee machine, tea towels)

Verified reviewLovely host family (very kind father and daughter duo) and very clean rooms. We also really liked the breakfast and it's nice to have a pool with mountain view.
Getting in and out with the car was a bit of a hassle but the father will help you out by parking it for you if he's around and you need help. Other than that, there are just some details that could be improved for the price, like having proper (and more) hangers in the wardrobe and water in the fridge when checking in

There was a small challenge with the aircondition. The family fixed it within one day and went beyond to support.

Verified reviewThe pool was nice.
We really wanted to like this family-run hotel, but several disappointments made our stay less than ideal. While it's only a seven-minute walk to the boardwalk/restaurant area, the location on the busy main road into town creates an unpleasant experience with scattered sidewalks that aren't enjoyable when you're dressed for dinner. Our clean room unfortunately looked out to a patio/retaining wall, and the breakfast service fell short with limited choices, items running out like yogurt, and an awkward system requiring guests to ask for everything. The drip coffee instead of an espresso machine was another letdown. Though we considered switching hotels, we ultimately decided it wasn't worth the hassle.

Verified reviewThis property is amazing. The view and the pool area are incredible and so relaxing. The property is very spacious both inside of the room and around common areas which makes it very comfortable. There is private parking. The breakfast was delicious and fresh every day with lots of variety. The room was cleaned daily by the lovely and kind cleaning staff who were also around the property all day, and really add to the family atmosphere as they are always welcoming and happy to chat. Above all, the family that runs the property are what make it such a nice and comforting place to stay. They embrace you into their family with open arms and really easy to spend time with. They offer guidance and help not just with tourist attractions but with providing anything that can make your stay there easier. Andrea was attentive and kind, offering fruit from the family garden and ensuring that we had everything we needed. Moreover, it was the meaningful conversations with each of the family members throughout our stay that would ensure we return back.
There was very little to complain about with this property, everything was perfect. One very, very small thing was that the shower in a room was slow to drain and could fill up the bottom and spill out onto the bathroom floor; but extra floor towels were provided to soak up the water (but this is just nit-picking, there was really nothing we didn’t like)

Verified reviewViews, pool, breakfast, owner was a real character and loved sharing raki shots with you.
The Compromise for the beautiful view was that the hotel was a little walk out of town and a hill climb up. This did not bother us though.

Verified reviewThe place was run by the most lovely family who will go far out of their way to make sure you feel at home. It is situated a bit out of town but the view makes the walk so worth it, absolutely stunning with a lovely pool area. Included breakfast is nice with local and home grown produce.

Verified reviewThe people were helpful and attentive: we got a blanket on request and we could take hot water which we needed from the machine. It was nice having a parking spot for the car.
The air conditioner was smelly and unmaintained - damp and unpleasant smell coming from it. The ventilation in the bathroom was so thorougly dusty (unmaintained for a long long time) that there was no way for moisture to get out. These are not everyday housekeeping problems, these are more thorough hotel management issues. Also the drain in the shower was almost blocked and we had to fix that ourselves in order for the water to go down. The breakfast was minimalistic, but that was okay - at least there were eggs, which is the main thing for us. But the coffee was really subpar, never had such weak coffee. I felt really uncomfortable by the way the owners treated their cleaning staff.

Verified reviewThe Ronto family (hosts) were exceptional. There simply is not another word for it. They went above and beyond what a normal host would to accommodate us and look after us during our stay. The pool is beautifully backdropped and always clean. The hotel was a short walk to the beach and main part of town, but ideally situated if you like to stay a little further away from the night time noise like us. Our suite was huge and we couldn't have wanted for anything more really. The whole place far exceeded what we expected of a small hotel in Albania. We would love to return one day!
