How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The place is very cozy and spotlessly clean! The rooms are quite spacious, so you won’t feel cramped at all. The location is excellent — right downstairs there’s a bakery with delicious pastries, and plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. The air conditioning keeps you comfortable even on the hottest days. The kitchen is well-equipped with all the essentials, including a large fridge. The host is extremely friendly, always available for any questions, and super easy to communicate with. You can check in at any time thanks to the convenient code lock on the door. Highly recommend this accommodation!

Nothing not to like.
The hostel provided everything you needed. Very clean and well maintained. Very spacious rooms. The host was always available on the phone and will help with any queries you have,ie, onward travel, buses etc. very good price for the area. Definitely the first place to book when in this area again.

30 minutes walk from centre, shopping centre nearby,well kept, kitchen.Its a self check in,so allow time to be in touch and get the key codes.

There was a guest (or guests) who didn’t care about the bathroom’s condition. They just left everything messed up & even took the extra toilet paper, soon after it was placed! Such a bad thing, when you’re at a sharing place. I don’t blame the hostel or the host for that, but I had to mentioned it: respect the others!
My private room was clean & comfortable. Seems like the place is new. Wifi connection was excellent. It’s 30 mins away on foot from the Center. I didn’t meet the host, but we had a very good communication via WhatsApp during my stay. There is a bus stop near at the Asllan Rusi sport palace which is convenient if you’re coming from the airport or from another town.

Not much not to like
Very convenient and could check it at my own pleasure. Staff were very chatty and clear on instructions great place. Separate bathrooms for male and female which is a bonus

The only not so good thing was the water pressure of the shower.
Location is very convenient, close to the bus stops. It was very clean and comfortable. Communication with the most was easy, so that was cool.

The place was super Clean, the host super helpful and kind. The Hostel is near everything you might need walking distance and a short ride from/to the Airport. During my stay, there was a heatwave in Tirana and the temperature outside was unbearable, but luckily the chamber had AC and it was a relief to stay inside (day or night). Would 100% Recomend.

Back again and Fenix is still my favourite and the most convenient place to stay while in Tirana. Clean, quiet, efficient communication with the host and outstanding service!

As mentioned, the international bus terminal nearby is a ghost town, but not knowing that, I booked this place due to its proximity. FYI, most busses leave from the Tirana Eastgate Terminal now. Easy enough to catch a city bus there though. Other than that, this place was fine for a one night stay. Lack of common areas made it feel a bit weird though.
Check in experience was remote (via WhatsApp) with a door code and simple instructions provided. Very good price, but be warned, the international bus terminal nearby no longer services most routes. Either way, the place was clean and quiet.

I had an excellent stay at Fenix Hostel in Tirana. The hostel is impeccably clean, calm, and located in the city center, making it convenient for exploring the area. The owner is exceptionally nice and helpful, ensuring all needs are met. Plus, the price is very good and reasonable. Highly recommended!

I believe they are not completely ready for kitchen They don’t have cutlery, mugs and sponges to wash. The owner said they will wash me though Bathroom they don’t have something you can put shampoo etc while having shower. Hope they’ll prepare in the future
