How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe loved the view, and the relaxed vibe of this place. The staff was super friendly and accommodating, let us leave a bag as well while we did our 8 day round trip. The food was also amazing everything home cooked! Would definitely recommend this place. They also had rabbits running around which was epic.
Only downside is that it’s about 2km up a hill out of the centre of Theth, which we didn’t mind but could be an issue for some people.
thank you so much your welcome anytime

Verified reviewThe host was so friendly and helpfull with everything, which made the stay amazing! The food they provided was delicious and the views you have are stunning. They now have a dining area inside as well, so you can choose to sit outside or inside. We felt so welcome here and stayed for 4 nights.
Our shower wasn't the best, but still enough to get you clean and well.

Verified reviewStaff was incredibly friendly. It's their first year but you wouldn't tell. Food is great, homemade with love. Although the hosts didn't speak English, their children did so communication wasn't an issue. At night the hosts made a nice fire and invited us all to come join them while enjoying a nice cool drink. Would recommend!
Bathroom could be cleaner, but overall the room was clean.
thank you so much you are welcome to come any time

Verified reviewMe and my girlfriend spent 3 night here and we really enjoyed it. The space is clean and tidy, really nice view of the mountain. We had dinner with them and the food was super tasty, much better than some of the restaurant we've been to the other days, everything is local, fresh and big portions, exactly what you would like after long hikes.
The room was really nice, clean and tidy. The mattress was really comfortable, the pillows not so much.

Verified reviewThe house is nicely located and has a great view. The staff was very friendly and gave us good tips and helped us sort something out. They also offered us a ride to the centre of the village, which was great. We were sreved a nice meal in the evening with some extra´s for free as well.
It´s about a 30 min walk to the village and from there the walks to the waterfall and the Blue Eye start. So if you want to visit those, be prepared to walk some extra km´s up the hill.

Verified reviewLovely staff who were very attentive. The room was clean. Note the reservation states two double beds when it is only two single beds. The food was great, dinner was €15 each. There are good restaurants surrounding the guesthouse as well.
The guesthouse is a fair walk from Theth and up a hill. The shared bathroom would get a bit dirty as the day went on.

Verified reviewThey offered a comfy room with breakfast included. We also opted to have dinner there for extra cost which was absolutely delicious. A great place to wind down after exploring Theth. We were also able to do some washing at no extra charge :)
Unfortunately the location is a 30 minute walk up the hill from theth and there aren't any easy ways to get up apart from an extortion ate taxi. The shared bathroom was also very small.

Verified reviewHosts are super friendly! They don't speak English, but it's not a problem at all. They have family around, and their English is perfect! The breakfast and dinner was one of the best yet

Verified reviewBed was comfy and the room was clean. It is uphill from the main road and very quiet at night.
With 70 Euros, it was the most expensive room we have had in Albania and the standard was the lowest. It is just a plain room with a wardrobe and two beds, no attempt to make it look nice. The bathroom is tiny and only got a toilet seat when we requested it. The view that others raved about is obstructed by the host‘s laundry and a large antenna. Breakfast is totally fine but we have had better breakfasts elsewhere. It is a 30-45 min hike away from the bus stop in Theth center, all uphill, no public transport, only taxis for 10 Euros. If you are already exhausted from a hike, you may want to look for something closer. It is perfectly okay for a budget traveller but 70 Euros are in my opinion very steep for this standard. We moved to a different place today and yes, better value is available for this price.

Verified reviewWe liked the owners. They were very friendly. The house is being renovated but it didn’t affect our stay. Nice view.
The owners are just starting in the business so still some things to improve which I am sure they will achieve with time. The bathroom needs improvement, eg no toilet seat or shower curtain. The location is fine if you have a car. We did not and it is at least a 30 minute work into town along the main road and the return is all uphill, which is tiring after hiking and being out all day.

Verified reviewA lovely house run by a very hospitable family, with fresh, local food served for the included breakfast and a very generous dinner for a small price. The view was stunning, and a perfect accompaniment to each meal. It is only a short walk or drive away from the centre of Theth. I thoroughly recommend it!!
