Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaTad tricky to find. Thats all! Lovely stay!
Amazing host! Friendly and kind, made us feel right at home. Breakfast was beautiful, fresh and made with love. Surrounding nature is breathtaking such a beautiful place. The room was perfectly sized for a couple nights stay with good bathroom.

MexicoIt is far from the end of the Valbone-Theth hike and there aren’t many signs of the guest house and could be tricky to find so we got a little lost.
The staff was very friendly during our stay.

United KingdomYou can hear other guests in the room next door, not really an issue as everyone is in bed early after hiking all day unless you have someone with a cough 🙉. Not the host or properties fault. Plus I forgot to pack my ear plugs.
Great location and stay whilst in Theth. Host was friendly and welcoming and a lovely continental breakfast served each morning with mountain tea or coffee. The room was basic with private bathroom but was enough space for the 2 of us. Both rooms clean and towels provided. Private parking on property grounds the host also let us keep our car a little longer parked up to complete a small hike after checkout. View from the room is amazing. You can also book an evening meal at the property with some notice to the host and cold beverages available to purchase. Property in short walking distance to start of most hikes.

United KingdomNo heating, it was 6 degrees in May and it was snowing! So bring warm clothes in shoulder seasons. I’m afraid of dogs and there were a few here. Not on the main road so path gets a little flooded when it rains
In a beautiful surrounding! Came in May and it was freezing and there is no heating in the rooms! Others staying here were leaving after one night as it was just too cold. The shower was really lovely and hot. The breakfast was plentiful and the bread was the best I’ve had in Albania and toasted! She gave me lots of cups of tea and Pashko was really kind and gave me a lift to the central bus station. Though the dogs are a bit of a nuisance!

United KingdomVery little - almost everything was great! Only the water didn't drain down the plughole well in the bathroom but I've noticed this is an issue in other places so may be. common problem here. It was a truly lovely stay, thank you!
Really friendly hosts - Vera and Pashko were lovely and welcoming people. Vera made delicious breakfasts - the cucumber was especially tasty, as were the local honey, eggs and cheese too. She advised on the times of the bus back to Shkoder and how to get to the museum in Theth. There was an effective heater in the room and although the walls are quite thin, the guesthouse was never noisy. The mattress and bed are so comfortable that I slept incredibly well each night I was there.

United KingdomThe walls/ceiling are very thin and not soundproof. We could hear other guests moving around quite loudly. It is fine if you take earplugs with you! You have to book the restaurant in advance for dinner as we didn't realise, but there are other good restaurants in walking distance which are also nice.
Breakfast was good, and the staff helped us book our travel back to Shkoder. Vera was lovely.

Brazilthe room had everything we needed, everything worked fine, but we expected a little bit more since it was more expensive than all the other stays we had in Albania (I guess because it was very well located).
very well located (from the garden you can see the most famous view of Theth with the little church) and good breakfast. Vera was always kind letting us do an early checkin, choose between 2 rooms, take the left overs of the breakfast to make sandwich for later hiking...

BelgiumYou have to pay coffee for breakfast, which feels a bit stingy, considering the breakfast is quite simple in itself. Dinner is now 15eur and they could not really tell us what was included in this price (no menu) so we went somewhere else

LithuaniaWe didn't know that we had to reserve dinner beforehand (no such information in the description). The payment in cash is not convenient, since you have to chase the owner in order to pay. The rooms somehow look worse than the photos.

United KingdomThe room we had was extremely basic. There was meant to be a "garden view" but it wasn't more than a small opening to get ventilation. No curtain either so light woke us up at 5am. The shower does not have a box so the whole bathroom gets flooded including the actual toilet. Breakfast is okay, the usual bread, tomato, cucumber and cheese. Coffee is not included and has to be paid separately
The location is just amazing. Theth is an enchanting place. Vera is a charming host and runs the place very effectively.
