How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Nothing. Although less amount in food would also do!

Verified reviewWe had the best time. From the moment we arrived, the owners welcomed us like family, particularly with my daughter, being so kind and playful with her. The breakfast is amazing - all homemade and with fresh ingredients. We had egg, cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, preserves, muffins, fried dough, crepes, tea, coffee. The room was very clean, with a mini fridge inside and air conditioning. The location is great. Just a 15-20 min walk to old town. But honestly, the best part of the stay was feeling like we were staying with family. It was such a warm environment! I would go back to Berat just to stay here 😊 Parking is also on site and behind the gate, so it's very safe.

Verified reviewAs other reviewers mentioned Lili’s guesthouse is a little gem in Berat. Well located with a private parking, but the best part is Lily and her husband who made the difference. She cooked an excellent dinner, all homemade, even the excellent Merlot wine. And she also prepares a fantastic breakfast with crepes, scones, homemade jams and juices. Highly recommended!

Room looked out over back garden which was untidy. A kettle in the room would have been good.

Verified reviewLili and her husband are a lovely couple. They are very welcoming and couldn't do enough to make our stay perfect. Our room, with a terrace and seating was large, spotlessly clean and had a good size bathroom with walk in shower and bidet. The breakfast is a spread, consisting of mostly home made / locally sourced items. Lili's cakes are freshly made each morning! The city centre is a 10 minute walk away. We ate at Terrace 360 Lion Bar & Restaurant one evening, mainly for the awesome view but the food is good too. The climb is worthwhile. Thank you for a memorable stay in Berat.

Verified reviewFrom all the places I booked in Albania, this was by far the best. The rooms are spacious and clean, with a nice interior. The terrace is calm and has a wonderful view on the mountains. Breakfast was delicious. What makes this place even better is the lovely Lily and her husband, they make you feel at home immediately and you get spoiled as if you're staying at your parents place. I more than recommend this place.

Verified reviewI or better said we have no words for this fantastic guesthouse with fabulous host Lily and her husband. From the moment you enter their premises you are getting spoiled. And everything you get from Lily is homemade. I never tasted such strong Raki but it seems you get a strong heart from it hahahaa. Rooms, linen and towels all crisp clean, parking behind a enormous gate, walk into town takes only 10 minutes and when it’s getting darker the town comes to life, so much to do and see. Next morning after a good sleep, Lily’s breakfast….. omg it is a table full, she keeps on spoiling you! I can’t give more stars then excellent if I could it would be 20/10 Thanx for everything, big hug from your Dutchies 🤩

Verified reviewExceptional stay – 10/10! The stay was absolutely amazing—spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. It looked exactly like the photos, if not better. Quiet, cozy, and very well-maintained. The host was outstanding—friendly, welcoming, and always quick to respond. They made the whole experience smooth and stress-free, from check-in to check-out. It really felt like they cared about making my stay perfect. Great location too—close to shops, restaurants, and public transport, but still peaceful. I honestly couldn’t have asked for more. I would 100% stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Fantastic breakfasts with foil provided to take any leftovers for a snack later. Definitely eat dinner there at least once - lovely food and superb homemade wine. Verified reviewEverything was perfect. Beautiful property in a fabulous location, the best hospitality and the most amazing food. Our only regret is that our stay was too short. After reading rave reviews about the food we booked an evening meal. It was delicious but much more than fabulous food, the owners welcome guests like family. A truly memorable dining experience. The place is spotlessly clean and immaculately well maintained. Quiet but a short walk from the very heart of the city. I cannot recommend highly enough for anyone who would like to experience authentic and delicious Albanian food and hospitality in this beautiful city. I would say if at all possible stay for at least 2 nights, we really regret how short our stay was. Added to which it was absolutely great value for money.
Loved everything.
