How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThis hotel is amazing - the view over the water is stunning and the sunsets are so good! Amazing value for money given the beachfront location and the view, absolutely worth the cost. The room was large, light, air conditioned, cleaned daily, very comfortable bed and large shower with a view over the water. The staff were so lovely, always happy to help and very welcoming Beach chairs included and 10seconds to the water Lots of good restaurants close by and 20mins to the main town if needed. A mini-market is also across the road
- a few hooks for towels / wet swimwear would be helpful - a coffee machine and utensils / cups would make the room perfect

Verified reviewLocation, room was perfect (nicely redone), Great seaview
If I had to pick something to critique, the beach chairs could use an update and you could provide beach towels for guests. Everything else was fantastic! I highly recommend!

Verified reviewWe stayed in the corner room that had the shower looking out over the ocean (wish we took a pic!!) and was a bit more spacious and our friend stayed in a smaller/standard oceanview room, right at the top of the stairs.... If you are on a budget but want to have a fabulous, relaxing, peaceful, BEAUTIFUL ocean-front stay, then Emily's is your place. We could have easily stayed a month! It is located on the quiet side of Himare, but Himare is small so you can theoretically walk everywhere you need within 25min. You are literally on the ocean with about 25m of sand between you and the water! Beautiful sunsets, stunning water, free beach chairs with umbrellas for hotel guests in the front/to the left of the hotel...MAGIC. Rooms were turned over daily and staff were all super helpful and friendly when around. I will say that if you are looking for a 24/7 staffed front desk and want more than a basic room (very comfy, clean and cute with everything we needed but not luxe in the sense of having a kettle, tea, coffee etc) then don't stay here - those are probably the main reasons it doesn't cost as much. Our friend, who had the room directly at the top of the stairs (205) had a lot of noise from people going up and down etc.but really was a small, quiet hotel in general. I don't think the walls are super soundproof.
-Thin walls could be an issue for some but generally clientele and type of accommodation made it a peaceful experience. - The beach chairs out front and to the left of the restaurant are supposed to be used by hotel guests only. Others are meant to pay. Some came from all over and took chairs and left their stuff there during the day but only used for a little while and then left...When the owner approached us initially, he didn't even ask if we were guests, he just told us it was 800lek for a chair and didn't say he was the owner so it seemed like a random guy taking the piss and asking for money. When we told him we were guests, he apologised and said he was the owner. Was a strange experience. The owner only seemed to target women from what we saw, even though we pointed out others who were not from the hotel...maybe he knew them or something, just reporting what we saw and experienced!

Verified reviewThis hotel and location were nothing short of perfection. The beach is absolutely stunning and it is literally right out the front steps of the hotel. I’d read about the lounge chairs needing TLC, but they are plentiful and comfortable, and serve their purpose (and looked identical to those at the neighboring beach clubs). The beach is clean (rocks - bring those swim shoes!) and the water absolutely stunning. It was never packed and we always had a chair and a nice swim in the water. The room is clean, and seems brand new. But the star is the balcony and the view. There is free parking out front, and we never had to worry about the car. The hotel is a little outside the main Himare area, but I think that’s a plus. The main public beach seemed crowded and overrun. We walked to the main area to take a boat trip, and it was an easy 20+ minute walk. Despite being a little outside the main area, there are delicious restaurants within walking distance, a market just down the street, and overall just seemed better for the vacation vibe. For the price alone, this hotel can’t be beat.
Not a negative, but we did have to ask for a blanket and glasses. Both of which were provided hastily, but just know you have to ask and make sure it’s before they leave for the day.

Verified reviewright on the beach, had a lovely balcony, and the room was nice and clean. It great value for money, also the hotel had it's own loungers out the front so we didn't have to pay for day beds at beach clubs- would definitley recommend
