How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewI enjoyed my stay very much,lives up to its standard. The view outside the restaurant is beautiful and the dishes are quite good presented nicely. The breakfast is delicious always smells nice and fresh. The pool is the best thing ever, i love the tropical feel of the palm trees around it and the great music by the poolside and beach bar. The staff is great, i overall recommend Elysium.

Verified reviewGreat swimming pool, location is good. We wanted to a little bit away from the main beach. It’s a short walk to the beach from the hotel. Staff were really good.
There are lots of new hotels being built which is going to offer stiff competition. If the Elysium wants to compete it needs to make a few changes. I’d suggest an omelette station at breakfast, find somewhere to put a gym or spa. Either that or they will need to lower their prices.

Beach distance from hotel, dhe air shuttle was terrible, leaving me waiting for 1 hour with my 1 year old
Dear Eliana, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We would just like to clarify a few points regarding your comments. The distance of our hotel from the private beach is 900 meters, and this information is always visible before booking, so our guests are aware in advance. To make this easier, we provide a continuous shuttle service from 08:30 to 19:00 with 3 minibuses running all day. The ride usually takes 5–15 minutes depending on traffic. During your stay, as you may remember, we even arranged a dedicated car especially for you and your child, upon your request not to share the shuttle with other guests. We always try to be flexible and attentive to families with young children. We are of course sorry to hear that you experienced some waiting, but generally we never receive complaints regarding the shuttle service, thanks to the number of vehicles we provide. We respect your opinion about the overall experience, but we would also like to remind that our hotel offers many other facilities that our guests usually value highly, such as cleanliness, restaurant and bar service, beach bar, children’s playground and above all the friendliness of our staff, who were always ready to assist you and your family. Verified reviewLovely staff, so friendly. Everyone was very helpful. Great breakfast menu. The shuttle to the beach was very useful, definitely saved walking up the hill on the way back.
Perhaps having water dispenser on each floor for guests would be a bonus. There was a small bottle per person left each day in the fridge but more should be available without paying for it.

Cheap breakfast, AC which even if it was turned off started to function 3 times during the night, very poor isolation of the rooms, very crowded beach without hostess.

Unfortunately, we didn’t receive any notification regarding the air conditioning during your stay. • Regarding the beach, we do have a staff member present who checks the list of our guests. Verified reviewI keep coming back to this hotel for years. I give it 9.5. Good and clever management compared with other hotels. I like the room, very comfortable bed and pillows, the nice staff, big and clean swimming pool and especially the view from the balcony. It overlooks the sea, greenery and cleanliness all around (fortunately the construction sites that are destroying the surrounding nature are not visible) Big pluses are the daily clean beach towels, free transportation to the beach and back, sun umbrella included in the room price.
Not related with the room and facilities though: Please improve the kitchen. It used to be amazing (now it is ok, but far from what was before)
