How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewLovely guesthouse outside of Permet. As others have mentioned the road up is a little rustic but the owners are extremely helpful and would have collected us if needed (fortunately we had a jeep, so managed fine). The weather when we visited was extremely hot and without a fan the room was very warm at night. However, the owners were very welcoming, the evening meal was superb, the views were amazing and we had a lovely stay.
The room was very hot at night and a fan would have helped to keep the air moving.

Verified reviewThe best accommodation we had during our 10 days in Albania! The owners were extremely hospitable, and the food was not only delicious but also fairly priced. What impressed us most, however, was the place itself. Sitting on the terrace in one of the comfortable chairs, enjoying the breathtaking view and the peaceful atmosphere, was simply unforgettable! We managed to drive up with a Hyundai i20. The road requires careful driving, but it’s absolutely doable—and definitely worth it! Thank you so much for this wonderful experience!

Verified reviewExceptional stay – felt like home! Our stay at Permet Guest House was unforgettable. The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming — they truly made us feel like part of their family. The food was outstanding, made with fresh vegetables from their garden and full of love and flavor. The location is stunning, with beautiful views of the Vjosa River and surrounding mountains. We woke up to the peaceful sound of birds and felt like we had stepped back in time, staying in a traditional house that’s a protected cultural monument. Everything about our stay was perfect. We’re so grateful for the hospitality and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommended!

Verified reviewThe place is beautiful, authentic, the people working there are great. It’s a family home open for visitors. The landscape and the way there are beautiful!! Food has to be paid extra but is delicious.
Just information: bathrooms are outside (makes sense, as it is a traditional old house) and the road there is not paved.

Verified reviewAn absolute highlight in accommodation in Albania. The road up there is really a challenge, our borrowed little Fiat had a bit of a problem and needed a bit of help from us. Anyway, the view was definitely worth it, and what about the dinner?! The lady of the house cooked us a huge and delicious dinner and breakfast. All the owners were very nice. The building itself is over 100 years old and is truly unique and beautiful. We regret that we only stopped for one night, we will definitely make it longer next time.

Not the fault of the owners, but the road up to the hill was bad.

Verified reviewThe meals were plentiful and exceptional....served with love from Florinda. All ingredients grown right there on the property. The village was magical. View of the mountains and farms below absolutely beautiful. Lovely places to sit and relax and read/sketch and to enjoy the beautiful meals. It's difficult to describe the uniqueness of this place, all I can say is that I've never been anywhere like it.
It was perfect!

Verified reviewAbsolutely amazing local experience, old house - cultural monument. Owners are like your own family, food is delicious from local garden and surrounding, view is stunning. If you like adventure trips and you want to try albanian cottage, this is right place.
Road to house is difficult forrest road, its impossible to reach by average car, you need jeep or big SUV. But owners are ready to take you uphill last 2 km. So for sure park your car down in the valley and ask for a ride.

Verified reviewLocation was magical! Couple who owns/runs it are wonderful. Florida's 8 course dinners were amazing! As was her breakfast. All food made from what was grown on their land. You can't find a more beautiful view. Sitting on the porch in the warm breeze overlooking the mountains, river and farms were spectacular. Florida is such a warm and lovely woman. Highlight of our trip.

Verified reviewVery traditional property with beautiful decorations and a stunning outdoor area.
The road to the property is very difficult unless you have an SUV or off roading vehicle, I do not recommend driving up yourself. They are able to pick you up if you arrange it in advance.

Verified reviewThis is an ideal place for someone who appreciates authenticity and traditions. The room is kept in a traditional style, clean, with access to a bathroom. The view from the house is unforgettable. Meals prepared by the host were superb—everything was natural and from their own farm. They served some of the best jams I have ever eaten! The place has a rich history, and the hospitality is wonderful. The host even helped us find a place to go rafting!
The only challenge is the road to the apartment; it is a bit off-road but offers beautiful views.
