How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewAmazing stay! Everything was spotless and the view was stunning. Breakfast and dinner were homemade, delicious, and very traditional. The hosts were kind, always helpful, and shared interesting stories about Theth. The rooms were very clean and warm inside. The garden is big, with beautiful green grass perfect for relaxing or camping, and at night the sky is crystal clear full of stars. The place is very near the main locations you want to visit like “The Tower of Ngujm” and the “Gruna Waterfall”, also the cute church is like 3 minutes away by foot. They even have games for guests. Truly a 10/10 experience – highly recommended!
There isn’t something we didn’t like.

Verified reviewGood breakfast and dinner. Dinner was quite simple, yet better than at nearby hotel. The hosts are lovely and when you in luck, you get a welcome shot even arriving early in the day. The room was basic but met all needs.
This place is indeed hard to find as google maps sends you around without getting exactly there. A local helped and then it was easy.

Verified reviewLovely people, great value for family of 5 with 3 beds on one room and a double in the other. Great to have a fridge. Stunning views from sitting out area with place to buy a beer/coke. Perfect location 2 min walk from tower, church and waterfall walk. Lovely lawn with games. Turn down road directly opposite the church door and it is on the left, a few properties down. Best to access via lower bridge rather than the main one by zip line as this saves a bumpy drive.

Verified reviewDon´t follow google maps! It doesn´t lead to the house and google maps sends you on a car destroyer road. It´s the road that starts just behind the church of theth (and Buni Shqipes is ideally located). And bring mosquito repellent, there are a lot of them here in summer. So far for the ´watch outs´. First of all. Great thanks to Antonio and Maria for their warm welcome and being great hosts. There´s a grass garden, and Antonio takes really good care of it. It´s not easy to have a grass garden in this part of Albania, usually it´s just rocks. The kids really enjoyed playing with the water guns, ball and beach tennis they provided. They dont´ speak English, but google translate has become their second way of communicating, which is actually quite fun. Antonio guides you where you want to go. And if you don´t agree, tell him, he´ll respect you for it and help you. (He wanted to give us an easy hike because of the young kids of 5 and 7, but we really wanted to hike). You can even swim in a nice waterfall 10 min behind the house, if Antonio takes you there. Breakfast was really good as well. They even have a fridge with beer at €2 for a 0,5l can, water is also available free of charge (to an extent I guess, we brought our own. My son liked them so much, Antonio wanted to keep him for a year. After some thought we decided to not leave him. Great experience!
No AC, but it cools down at night and they have fans to keep you cool.

Verified reviewVery friendly hosts!
There is no aircondition although there should be according to the facilities. There is a fan which is fine but the list of facilities should be updated.

Verified reviewThis is a gem with the two ladies hostesses that went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We got a one bedroom apartment that was clean and has a balcony. Everything was so great. We ate dinner that was made fresh and was delicious. I must say that google maps instructions are wrong. You should drive to the right after the church and not continue straight. The location is superb, the last house on the street makes it serene and close to the start of the path to the waterfall.
Its not a real issue but would be better to have a barrier between the shower and the toilet.

Verified reviewWe liked the stunning location, the very sweet owners and that the rooms have a separate bedroom and enough space to put down our luggage. Many electrical outputs. The jam and the cooked sausage served at breakfast. It was nice to have an outside seating area, not many have those in Theth.
The only good mattress was the one in the master bedroom, the other ones unfortunately hard and somewhat uncomfortable. The breakfast wasn't our thing, especially the bread was not good, eggs, though appreciated, rock hard. Bathroom set up very unpractical, the toilet is next to shower with nothing inbetween, so gets very wet, as does the rest of the bathroom, because the shower curtain is too short.

Verified reviewWe are very happy that we have chosen Buni Shqipes for our stay in Theth. Maria and Antonio are such good and nice people. They really take care of their guests. We felt ourself at home. They can not speak English but with Google translater was everything solved. Antonio gave us all information to explore Theth and the neighborhood. Maria prepared tasty, healthy food for us. The room was very clean and comfortable. There is a big garden to relax. Nice flowers. Everywhere mountains around you, beautiful. To find the accommodation you should go to the beautiful small church. Opposite the entrance of the church you will find a street. Take that one, at the end of the street on the left site you will find your home🙂The name is very fitting: Buni Shqipes. It worth to look it up what does it mean🙂.Dear Maria, Antonio, thank you for your hospitality, we wish you good health and nice guests.
