How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWhat a beautiful place! We spent 2 days in the mountains, and thank God we did not book in Theth, but here! Would do it again like this! (Albanian Alps means "taxi-to-Blue-eye" for many tourists. Drivers didn't understand why we want to hike from Theth-Nderlysaj. On the way you discover unique landscape and waterfalls!) This beautiful old big family-run guesthouse is in nice, silent, rural location. Great big room though we were only 2. Best sleep compared to 4 other nights n Shkoder; with fresh air and calm athmosphere. To extend our tinned supper we ordered meals for dinner which we really liked. Beer was much cheaper than in the city. Petulla breakfast was great! The family members were super nice and accommodating, I think the adorable puppy was the best memory! :) Electricity can fail sometimes, but we went for hiking so we didn't bother about this at all. If you live there it is annoying but as a tourist it was more romantic. I wish we could go back one day! Thank you everything!
Thank you very much Gabor and I'm really pleased to have you as guests

Verified reviewOur stay here was beyond lovely. Firstly, the family that run this accommodation are so nice and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. They made such incredible food for us and truly were some of the best people we have met along our travels. The accommodation was lovely - the room was very clean and spacious for the 2 of us. The outside area is lovely and peaceful - even though it was raining there was a cover over the tables so we were still able to enjoy the outside. The location was brilliant - very close to the Blue Eye and Lumi I Shales river but also very quiet and secluded which made it perfect for relaxing. Overall this accommodation was more that perfect and we would recommend anyone to stay here!!
Nothing.
Thank you very much the pleasure was ours

Verified reviewThis family run guest house is a delight. I especially liked its location - the Blue Eye is about 2.5km away, and the Grunas Waterfall about 6.5km away. Nderlysaj is a lovely village, with very friendly people. I massively overestimated how long it would take me to get to, and arrived very early, which was no problem, my room was ready. They serve good coffee and breakfast was great too. It is an old traditional building with thick stone walls so it was cool in the day and warm at night. My room was spacious (it had 6 beds in it) and the bathroom had a big shower. They answered my questions both before and during my stay - I was worried that there was no road to get there, but it turns out Google maps hasn't kept up with the development there, and sure enough, just as they said, it was well sign-posted and easy to find. I would strongly recommend staying here instead of in Theth. On my way back from the waterfall I came across a lot of very hot and bothered hikers on their way back from the Blue Eye looking pretty annoyed that they still had many kilometers to go before getting home. There was also an adorable puppy who I'm not going to lie probably also heavily influenced this glowing review.
Thank you very much James the pleasure was ours to have you as a guest Good luck with everything

Verified reviewLocation. Very near to the entrance for the Blue Eye. Has good food, but it also has some walking distance restaurants. Very clean. The owner and the staff are very helpful and friendly. So... for them 10/10. Good breakfast and good food.
The beds are confortable, but the room is crowded with beds. The stairs are a little bit short and it's difficult to walk upstairs with the bags. Energy and water seems to fail a lot during the day.
Thank you very much

Verified reviewWe've arrived around 11 pm after 31 km long hike from Lumi i Shales. After taking a shower I've asked if we can still get something to eat and owners opened kitchen and cooked great dinner for us. The visit was very pleasent. Location is great. Beds were comfortable and communication was perfect.

Verified reviewGood breakfast, they drove our baggage to the guesthouse because you'd have to pass a river. English speaking receptionist. Free parking and at the beginning of the blue eye track. Few minutes drive to Theth.
They changed our room but we didn't mind as much. The toilet wasn't clean when we arrived.
Thank you very much Emma

Verified reviewBeautiful location. Lovely traditional stone house. Big garden outside space for sitting , eating out and parking. Restaurants close by and at start of Blue Eye trail. Elena who is the daughter looked after us very well, speaks perfect English and translated for her father so we could speak to him about the area etc . She is a capable and efficient young girl.
Electric power went off several times. Location was farther than we expected but more spectacular for that . Driving in Theth is quite challenging because of winding roads and lots of traffic.
Thank you so much Ann!

Verified reviewAmazing place run by wonderfull people! Staff was super helpful with our every need. Room and bathroom was spacious, breakfest was simple but definitely enough:) location was just incredible, with the mountain view, just at the entrance to the trail to blue eye. Highlu reccomend! More than you can expect for that price:)
The only thing missing for us was a little fridge or at least one at the common area. That would make it a perfect 10 :)
Thank you very much, Daria

Verified reviewThe hospitality was amazing! The hosts are extremely friendly and we felt immediately at "home". I'd definitely recommend staying at this accomodation. The location is also perfect. It's in a very quiet village and it's very convenient to start different hikes like the blue eye. They also offer lunch and dinner options. We especially loved their "kebab". Price-quality is this a very good find. Like mentioned in the other reviews, the room is quite big. With 2 people we stayed in a room of 6. But it wasn't a shared room or we didn't have to pay more. Perfect!
Thank you very much Astrid

Verified reviewLocation was perfect (close to start of blue eye) . Staff were helpful&friendly and traditional breakfast was very tasty. Mattress was very comfortable.
No soundproofing- could hear every conversation outside the room. Inconsiderate loud guests who were drinking in the bar downstairs of the guesthouse made it impossible to fall asleep until 1am- a curfew should be introduced. No blinds in room, so zero privacy.

Verified reviewLisa was very friendly. She doesn't speak English but we managed with Google translate and a bit of Italian. The location is great for hiking to the Blue Eye but not great if you don't have your own transport.
As a solo traveller it was poor value. All I wanted was a single or double room but I paid €42 for a room with 6 beds. This is extremely expensive for Albania. It wasn't particularly clean. One of the windows was missing a pane of glass and they used a cushion to cover the hole! My room was downstairs. When people upstairs walked around their room my entire room shook! There was no electricity or internet from evening onwards. There was still no electricity when I checked out in the morning.
Sorry but when you made the reservation have you seen the price before confirming it?Also for the room that has six beds the information is all in our booking page so I don’t get why do you have to make a complain about it!Thank you.

Verified reviewIncredible traditional and peaceful place in the middle of the mountains. Beautiful and quiet. But don’t expect a high end luxury hotel or room that is freshly renovated - the house and rooms are very traditional, but we loved that about it. Around 15 min. By car to Theth village. Best home we had on our Albania road-trip because you can really relax and calm down with not a lot of people around. Breakfast was also good and the family even made us an oat milk cappuccino with our own milk :)
We arrived in the dark and didn’t see the sign of the hotel from the Main Street. At one point Google maps is not showing the street so we would recommend using the app MAPS.ME! Also, because there are offline maps included. Would be great to put the sign with the apartment on the Main Street. Other than that, everything was perfect :)
Thank you very much Sarah
