The room was very comfortable, especially the bed which had an excellent mattress. The on-site dining was also delicious and generous. It gave us the energy to go on a hike through the mountains, with stunning views all along the way, leading up to Mount Buretos — a 15–17 km trek with incredible scenery and no crowds. A truly peaceful experience! And in case you run into any difficulty getting back to the accommodation, the host is kind enough to come and pick you up by car. A perfect mix of adventure and comfort!

Stunning location up in the hills - clean air, incredible views. Thanasi gave us such an warm welcome - picking us up in the car for the final stretch of the drive, cooking for us, and sharing conversation over a glass of local rose. Really wonderful experience!

One of our greatest travel experiences was the two nights we spent here. The lovely, hospitable Thanas created a real gem at the top of the mountain in the village of Labovë. Perfect cleanliness, harmony and good taste are the hallmarks of the Bujtina. In the stunning mountains, historical and natural sights await hikers. Excellent culinary experiences are provided by the kind local women. This inn and village represent the real Albania, where kindness and besa still count when guests arrive. Drive slowly and you can easily reach this unique place. Thank you Thanas!

I loved the hospitality of the owner and the staff, the amazing view the great meals and the comfortable and nice rooms. Even though in every room there is great view, if you want the best view ask for room nr 5, thank me later.

Perfect stay with Thanasi, true Albanian hospitality. The restaurant and house are brand new and very clean. The power was out when we arrived due to a thunderstorm, but this didn’t matter at all, we had a delicious dinner prepared by cantle light, and some really nice chats. The bed was so comfy!

This place is out of this world and completely worth the slightly long drive from Gjirokaster! Super clean, new and modern and Thanasi, the owner, and his wife are very kind. Food, both dinner and breakfast, is amazing and fresh and very good value. Communication unfortunately is a bit of a problem but possible with Google translate. Would definitely recommend staying here, if only more places in Albania were like it!

The road to the village has not yet been finished by the government. Supposedly they will finish it september 2024. Until then, you can ask the host to pick you up in the village below. He gladly offers this service.

The stay at Bujtina Koel was amazing. The host was lovely and did everything to meet our needs. The hotel is situated in a quaint little village on the top of a mountain with the most stunning views. Every day, goats go up and down the mountain with their shepherd. My kids adored it! The people are so friendly, they invited us in to share lots of time grapes with us. The rooms are brand new and very clean and beautiful. The breakfast is lovely and you can ask for anything. The food in the evening is very good as well, with amazing lamb and lovely vegetables and soup. We enjoyed the peace and quiet our stay and the culture of the surrounding villages with the stunning churches. We would definately recommend staying here!

Honestly everything was perfect, just the road, but as I said, it was worth it.

Wonderful. The last road up to the hotel is only suitable for the brave, the road is gravel and you have to be careful with the car. HOWEVER it is totally worth it as the hotel is spectacular. Everything is NEW and the rooms do not miss any detail (air-conditioned, AMAZING views, clean and large bathroom) the room it is even more beautiful than in the photos, the breakfast is plentiful, authentic, homemade and locally AMAZING. The host is a great man and very altruistic, he offered us drinks as soon as we arrived. In spite of the road fantastic experience TOTALLY recommendable and I don't think there is a better option at that price.

The Location is absolutely stunning, amazing views in a very quiet part of Albania. Thanas while not knowing much English communicated well with translate and had some interesting stories while also being very accommodating. Breakfast fabulous ,delicious. Dinner even more delicious. Lovely outside eating area with views on views. Recommend going to eat before sunset it really creates a great atmosphere. Very comfortable rooms with really nice views of the mountains. The drive is a little challenging but any careful driver can make it up there no problem.

Bujtina KOEL was our favourite place out of all the places we stayed on a three-week trip around Albania. The owner, Thanas, is a real gentleman and takes such pride in the place he has built, and how he looks after his guests. We arrived as guests and left as friends. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. Thanas is a great chef, and teams up with a local, Nina, when needed. Together they presented us with true feasts for dinner. Thanas's homemade Raki was graciously shared with us after dinner. The location is great - it's an adventure to get to but the views are amazing. Absolutely worth visiting.

The road to the hotel is suitable for 4*4 cars, be ready for difficulties on the road, you’ll experience some extreme.

It was amazing time in true village almost on the top of the mountain. Unforgettable views, welcome owner, very very delicious food, you will not find something better, it’s was the moments which we will remember for all life!!! This place is authentic, with very friendly and kind locals, who welcomed us as a family members. The rooms are very comfortable and very clean, the hotel is 10 out of 10 points!!!

Beautiful place with an amazing view and the best host ever. We had problems with our car and had a flat tire when we arrived to the village. Tanaz our host went above and beyond to help us, he picked us up at night, taking care of the car and our luggage and when we finally arrived very very late at night he went to the kitchen and still prepared dinner for us.The next day he went back to the village and fixed our car for us. Best customer service and highest level of caring I’ve ever seen. Overall much much recommended, very nice people, great food, good views and perfect to disconnect and explore places around!

Probably the best nights stay I’ve ever had anywhere in the world. The road is a challenge but easily doable in any half decent car. The owner was a legend, sorted us everything we needed. A true gent I hope to meet again one day!

We enjoyed this place so much that we decided to cut our stay in Ksamil short and come back. This property was just as stunning our second time here. Pictures honestly dont do it justice. Drinking Rakia with Thanasis and playing board games with his daughter Elena really made our night special!

This has got to be one of the best places we have ever stayed! The view is worth every second of the drive up the mountain. Rooms were large, bright and clean. Thanasis, the host is warm and welcoming. We enjoyed watching the sunset over the mountains with him while sharing a beer and learning about the history of the property over google translate.

The street leading to the hotel is quite a challenge but if you are looking for a peaceful stay to such a beautiful place and location it is worth it!

The hotel was amazing, clean and with pretty decoration. The host is also kind, friendly and generous. We enjoyed all our meals at the hotel’s restaurant.

The owner was super friendly, attentive and really treated us very well making us feel at home. Fantastic views and a very delicious meal. This is a great hotel in a stunning location even if you have to work at getting there! We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Butjina Koel and can recommend it very highly.
