Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe room was perfect - clean, beautiful furniture, a/c, comfortable beds - a welcome stop after a long journey! Beautiful pool outside with an amazimg view of the sea and islands. Breakfast was also very good. Wish we'd had more time there! Ksamil was more active in terms of night life than other places we stayed in Albania, and this hotel was located in the perfect place. Probably a 10-15 minute walk to the nightclubs (far enough that you couldn't hear them), and a 5 minute walk down the hill to several beaches. Also, a 15 minute cab ride to Butrint. Would definitely stay there again.

United KingdomGreat location in a quieter part of Ksamil. Clean, rooms with modern furnishings. Breakfast was buffet style with a good selection of hot and cold food, tea and coffee, eaten on the verandah, under the vines, with views over to Corfu. Would recommend the Sunflower beach facilities close by, not as crowded as the main part of town and reasonable priced loungers and umbrellas

NetherlandsThe pool could do with some umbrellas, as the shade from the olive trees was a bit sparse.
Set high up on the hill, the views were amazing. Great swimming pool and a lovely table area to sit and enjoy the view. Basic accommodation but clean and comfortable. The airconditioning works well. A short walk into town along the road, or down a dirt path to the beaches. Generous breakfast and sweet staff members.

New ZealandI struggled with the very very firm bed.
Had the best time staying at Vila Bello and was very sad to leave! This hotel faces the coast and is away from the main strip which means a little extra walking but we felt it was so worth it for the peaceful resort feel (a lot of the other Ksamil properties are all stacked on top of each other). You can cut down a little hillside and take the coastal walk to the main beach clubs which was a lovely 10-15 min walk. The pool area was glorious, as was the terrace overlooking the ocean with grape vines growing overhead. The wifi was really good and I was able to take meetings and check messages from over most of the parts of the grounds. They put on a great spread for breakfast. The lady who runs breakfast service was an absolute gem. Thanks so much for making our morning each day & thanks to the rest of the staff for a lovely stay.

EstoniaThe only things to improve is the location on Google Maps/Booking, it was difficult to find with a car. And the pillows were huge and a bit uncomfortable.
Villa Bello was great. Amazing views and a great location (a fast road down the hill to the promenade), everything in walking distance. Loved the terrace where breakfast was served and the pool (nice and warm in July) although the pool is deep (not suitable for children who cannot swim). The room was spacious, had a fridge and a good shower, air condition alao good. Very friendly and nice staff!

SloveniaThis stay has totally exceeded our expectations. It is a privately owned establishment, not too big, yet family friendly. The suite we had was modern, well-furnished and very comfortable. The breakfast was exceptional. Good selection every day with certain bits and pieces that changed daily. The mom makes the bureks herself and they were absolutely divine. The family is very friendly and welcoming, we felt well received and taken care of from the very beginning. This trip is our babymoon trip and the mom asked about me and the baby's well-being every day. I cannot recommend this place enough, great value for money, a bit removed from the hustle and bustle of the main strip, but still conveniently close to beaches and the centre (f.ex. walking to Bora Bora beach was around 20-25min, walking to the nearest market was about 5min on the main street). It is also a perfect spot to watch the sunset. If I ever come back to Ksamil, this is where I will be staying.

IrelandNothing to dislike.
It was so nicely located, a short walk from the main town along the coastal road/path (hardly any cars going down it) and nice and quiet. Rooms were lovely, we had 3 altogether so kind of felt like we had a small apartment. Breakfast was basic, but lovely. Pool was so nice and relaxing, with an amazing sunset view. The hotel owners were so so lovely, and the highlight of our stay. They helped us organise some transport via Blue eye to our next holiday stop, and then even checked that it was all ok, and then that same driver drove us back from our next place too, all the while our lovely hosts here checked it had gone ok. Couldn’t recommend here enough, and if you do stay, chat to the lovely owner and her grown children.

IrelandI personally found the bed and pillows too hard. I found it difficult to get comfortable. I did not tell them this because I don't think there is anything they can do about it. These are just they mattresses and pillows they use. The iron is in a room on the ground floor. If you need it you have to bring your clothes down. They did not have an iron or ironing board to take to your room. I think it would be helpful for guests if they left an iron and ironing board in the hallway of each floor. The guests can use it and return it to the hall for other guests. There is no lift this was ok for me but if you have any disability or issues with your legs this may be a problem. In this case maybe just book the ground floor which has around 6 or 8 steps up. There is also around 6 steps down to the eating area from the ground floor and around 6 steps up to the pool area. Just something to be aware of if you have difficulty with steps. There is what they call a path behind the hotel. Guests use it as a shortcut to the path by the sea to walk into town a 7 to 10 minute walk. The path is downhill and it is made of rocks and stones. You have to be very careful as you could easily slip and get hurt. I don't think the owners own the land so they probably can't make the path safer for guests. This may not be possible for them. if they could make it better I think it would be a great benefit to guests as right now it isn't the safest walk down the path. I definitely would not attempt to walk up it at night as it would be unsafe to do so. There is a good road at the front of the hotel that you could use to get to the seafront path into town. This adds an extra 7 mins to your walk or you could get a taxi. The local taxis charge 10 euro into town centre.
I loved the view it was so beautiful. The location was so peaceful and at night the hotel is quiet. It is a family run business and the mother is the loveliest of ladies, so kind and helpful. They try to do all they can so you have a relaxing stay. The owner said treat it like it is your home. The pool is a lovely area with a view out to the sea. They supply plenty of towels. They keep the place really clean which is great. Breakfast is bread, boiled or fried eggs, toasted sandwiches, local sausage, local style pastries, bowl of tomatoes and cucumber and dip. They have choice of cereal, watermelon and banana. Juice, water, coffee and choice of teas. There is a toaster for the bread and a microwave. just to note when they cook eggs they leave them out and they can go cold. It wasn't a problem for me I still ate them and they were fine. The mother is up early preparing the food and is available for anything you need.. The family really do try to do everything to keep you happy.

NetherlandsThe location was quite far away from the strip, at least a 15 minute walk. Also, the rooms were anything but soundproof. We could hear the TV from the neighbors and all the sounds from outside. Also, the room was not very spacious. For Ksamil this price is good, but compared to other places we have been it is expensive for what you get.
Breakfast was on the terrace with a beautiful view, also very tasty and lots of choice. The pool was great! Nice balcony with drying rack and the curtain was completely darkening.
