How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Clean hostel, dorm was big enough to feel very comfortable with 2 lockers per bed. Kitchen is a little bid small and basic, the shower was a little bit leaking, but everything else was very find

beds weren't comfy. it doesn't have a personal touch. just felt like a standard hostel and nothing stood out. was good enough and has lots of room for improvement.

We had a private room but thought it was a bit too expensive for what it is. Not soundproof, we could hear people underneath talk all night.
It's was cosy and not too far from the center. We were happy with the place even if the room was very basic.

The stuff was very friendly and welcoming. I stayed for 2 days at the hostel and I gotta say for everyone who wants a nice/cozy place to stay this is the place for you. Its clean and well maintained.

Small kitchen space, but manageable for a few nices. The bathrooms were rather iffy though. The toilet felt like it would fall over any time and the everything someone showered, the floors flooded.
Really enjoyed the rooms, comfy but private. The staff were very kind and helpful!

I had a great time staying at Buff Tirana Hostel. The staff were super friendly and always ready to help. The place is very clean, cozy, and has a great social atmosphere. The location is perfect—just a short walk to the city center and everything you need. I met some amazing people from all over the world in the common areas. If you’re looking for a clean, affordable, and welcoming place to stay in Tirana, this is it. I’d definitely come back!

The shared space was a bit of a compromise. The toilets and kitchen could be better maintained.
The Location is the best part. It is walking distance from the central bus stop (airport).

Staff forcing me to check in before the time. Calling me all afternoon because she wanted to end her shift. They are all voluntaries, so you never know what to expect.

Getting right temperature in the shower was not an easy task to accomplish. It was either boiling hot or cold with less than a millimetre turn of the handle. Kitchen is closed during night (might be an issue if you leave early and used the fridge). Overall, these are minor inconveniences and our general experience was good.

Bathroom can be better. Kindly arrange more shelves in bathroom. Hooks on the bath walls should be more. Sink/shower water is slow initially. If mosquitoes can be prevented (mosquito killers). Furniture in rooms can be added.

I didn’t like that the walls were very thin, making it easy to hear noise from other rooms. Also, the upper beds were quite high and lacked a safety railing, which made them feel unsafe.
I appreciated the warm welcome from the staff and the convenience of being able to leave my baggage after checkout.

The room was cold as one of the balcony doors was hard to close. The shower door was broken which lead to water all over the floor.
Price is great and location is central.

There was no rail on the top bed and it was quite a steep fall of anyone should fall.
The location of the hostel is good. It's within walking distance of all the tourist attractions. The bed was really comfortable and the room was nice and spacious.
