How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewA home away from home… I had an incredible time staying at this hostel — it truly felt like home. The owners are extremely caring and make sure you feel comfortable and have everything you need. They also give great advice on where to go, what to do, and even help with booking tours. I kept extending my stay day after day, and would have loved to stay longer if i had more time. Leaving was really hard because it felt like being part of a family. This is honestly one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in, and I’ll definitely be coming back! The location is great — close to the city center, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. There are also many activities to do in the area. If you’re looking for a place where you can connect with others and settle in for a while, this is the perfect spot. And the animals at the hostel bring even more life and warmth to the place!
Everything was perfect <3

Verified reviewFor the price it is everything you could ever ask for. The place is clean and the people there are lovely. The main host also goes out his way to give you recommendations where to go in the city and help out his guests in general. The dorms look nice and have balconies. They also have a nice hangout space in the main hall and in the yard where there is also a small swimming pool.
The beds are kinda squeeky and seemingly poor quality. One bathroom was missing the toilet seat and the other was kinda stinky. Still nothing you can't get over for 8€ per night.

Verified reviewThis is a wonderful hostel located in a nice part of town with everything you’d want or need nearby including a supermarket within a 5 minute walk, bakeries nearby, good cheap restaurants at the end of the street along with a smaller grocery store. Would recommend for any travellers wanting a nice chilled but social time in Shkoder.

Verified reviewI really enjoyed my stay here. It is such a homely hostel and all the staff are so lovely and helpful. It is a good location, 5-10 minutes walk to the main area of Shkoder but also tucked away enough that it was perfectly safe and very quiet. There is good wifi and a space upstairs between the rooms which was great for remote working. They had set up a pool in the yard too which was ideal for hot days. I also needed to store a bag for a few days after I stayed and they were more than happy for me to do so
Not a negative but there are 2 bathrooms (shower and toilet in each) so sometimes it can be a few minutes wait but the hostel was full when I was there and it was never a big issue or a super long wait time

Verified reviewThis is suuuuch an amazing place, definitely one of my favorite hostels I’ve stayed in! It’s a small hostel converted from a family home so the feeling is super cozy and warm. What really makes the place special is the manager Dion and the volunteers. They are incredibly kind and helpful people who really care about the guests.

Verified reviewVery nice, clean and cozy Hostel close to the bus station and city centre. Had a great time with the people there going for a day trip at the lake nearby and Canyon, I totally reccomend the trips they have, renting a bike or playing ping pong in the courtyard. The Staff is very friendly, Dion the owner is very attentive to details and also Cristian is very nice. I would ve wanted to stay there much longer. I felt like home. I liked they have a very well equiped kitchen, a nice living room to chill and garden with flowers and shade, a pingpongtable and cats :)

Verified reviewI really enjoyed my stay here! The place has a calm vibe, a nice chill-out area, a clean and spacious bathroom, and two very friendly owners — Dion and Christian, who made me feel welcome from the first day. Also, bonus points for the ginger cat who guards the place like a furry little king. Definitely a spot with soul.

Verified reviewI extended to 4 nights and will return after my hiking days again. The hostel is in a traditional Albanian home, and it’s beautiful! I had good sleep with the AC. They take good care of keep it clean and nice. The garden common area is super chill and there’s lots of activities (ping pong, darts, foosball, cards, etc). You can use the kitchen to cook. There’s rental bikes, you can book further bus tickets/transportation to Valbone or Theth with them as well. Just ask! Location is just 10 min walk to center but in a calm residential street, which I like. Pici the orange kitty is also so adorable and always coming into my lap. Dion, who runs the place, is the best. He makes sure to get to know every guest and gives advice about what to do in Shkoder. We became friends 🥳 I met really cool chill people while here, lots of people come for the hike. The day trips they offer are amazing too! Especially to the canyon, where you can swim and walk along the rock formations. The nature is wild and beautiful. I totally recommend it. Activities I recommend: cycling to Shiroke! Sunset at Rozafa castle (free spot, ask Dion)
Nothing really! I had fun here.
