We loved staying at Josiph's. Josiph and Anna are so lovely, they made us feel welcome, looked after us and made the most lovely breakfasts. Despite the language barrier, we had easy communication when needed. They are wonderful hosts and our stay made for a more authentic experience.

Staying here is like staying with your grandparents - Anna & Joseph made us feel very welcome, and were great with our six year old. Fantastic location. Plus top quality homemade produce in the breakfasts!

Lovely kind hosts - elderly couple who were soooooo sweet. Super breakfast and the location within the castle walls cannot be beaten for atmosphere. Also very helpful to have free access to their washing machine and lovely Mama hung it all up for us! ❤️

The drive inside and within the castle was an adventure. All uphill, narrow streets, people walking, slippery rocks. At the end there was no parking that we were told we will have. We could not communicate with the owner, we even tried AI, but could not explain to him, he should speak to a phone and AI will translate it. Finally I squeezed the car close to a wall and drove away early in the morning. The lack of English was really inconvenient.

The experience to stay inside a castel of Berat at locals in a traditional housing was great. Walk around the castle at night was very nice, seeing the whole town from above also. The room has aircon, older furniture but that was part of the uniqness, everything was clean, shared bathroom. We could choose a breakfast menu. The hosts were really sweet, but could not speak much English. We got to try a Homemade rose liqueur. There are many restaurants inside the castle. Breakfast was served on a terrace.

Joseph's is a beautiful accommodation to stay at. A wonderful breakfast was provided, and the bed was very comfortable. The location is amazing and right in the centre of Berat castle. It certainly is a wonderful experience.

Driving into the Berat castle was a bit stressful.

Anna and Josiph run a very welcoming and peaceful bed and breakfast. Stayed here with two friends in their triple room which had amazing mountain views. Anna was very warm and made an excellent breakfast. All round, a great experience!

Bed & Breakfast Josif  is unique accomodation within Berat castle. It was a privilege to stay in a genuine family home. The owners are to be congratulated as they care about their guests & the quality of their stay. They are a lovely generous couple. Breakfast was a good start to each day. The room was quiet, spacious, clean with a comfortable bed. There was small outdoor sitting area with a fabulous view over the surrounding countryside. We highly recommend staying at Bed & Breakfast Josif.

Amazing experience at a local family place. We got a welcome drink and sweets and could choose which breakfast we would like at what time. We could wash our clothes and when we came back, she even hang it for us.

The location of Anna's and Josiph's guesthouse was amazing, right in the middle of the castle grounds! They were both so warm and friendly, with welcome drinks on arrival. We were lucky that, even though the wind was a bit chilly in November, the sun was out so we were able to enjoy breakfast outside with an incredible view and a kitten in the garden to keep us entertained. Even though we were there out of season, there were still eateries in the castle within strolling distance so we didn't need to go down into the town. We loved our two nights there.

We stayed in the cooler month of November. The house does not have any heating, and they keep windows and doors open. Especially the bedroom could do with a heating/AC combination. Smaller issue: the shower head needs fixing. Neither is a deal breaker, and they provide ten blankets which make you feel cosy.

Great place run by a lovely elderly couple. It is in the middle of Berat Castle, so you will be driving on cobblestones for the last few hundred meters. Parking was available in front. From their terrace, you have a lovely view of the surrounding mountains. Anna and Josip speak only a little English, but communication was not an issue. Breakfast was great as well.

This is a true guest house, you are staying in someone’s house and they treat you like a special guest. The owners are very kind and sweet, the room is comfortable, and the breakfasts are great. The property is up in the castle and has a big view of the city and Mt Tomorri from the room and the breakfast terrace.

Great location in a house up inside the castle. Parking was available out front. Lovely view of the surrounding mountains and 2 nice outdoor eating spaces. Hosts were very welcoming and nice. Breakfast was great the next morning as well.

I can’t think of anything bad to say, especially for the price you really can’t complain.

It was lovely! We had the triple room which was simple but very nice and clean. Our favourite part was probably the terrace which looked over the mountains and where we also at breakfast the next morning. There was also a family of cats with kittens which made our stay even more enjoyable. The hosts were lovely. We were served juice on arrival before being down the room which was great in the heat!

The location was amazing. It was really special to experience a near empty castle at night. Another highlight was the view from the room and during breakfast. The hosts, Ana and Josiph, were very warm and welcoming. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend staying with them!

We really enjoyed our stay st B&B Josiph. The hosts were amazing, very friendly and courteous. They serve you fresh and homemade breakfast in the morning. It is a really authentic experience as you stay in the house of the two hosts.
