How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe stayed in the new modern cabin. Cosy with nice finishes.
The property is bit hidden behind the hospital, detracting from the views. The cabin has 0 amenities, not even a glass or a kettle. I know you can ask them, but it sucks that you can’t make yourself a cup of coffee or tea. The yard needs a tidying up. It is premium priced but misses on delivery.

Verified reviewBreakfast was great, buffet with many home-made and fresh goods.
The room resembled a youth hostel; small, dark, old furniture, not comfortable to be in. Unfortunately, it was raining a lot that day, so we could not spend the entire day outside but had to be in the room. The staff was alright, nothing to complain about, but the room wasn't really clean (dirty carpet etc). We had stayed at another accommodation for the exact same price the night before, thus I had the direct comparison and must say this one is not really good value-for-money.

Verified reviewGood location in Theth, a short walk from a market and restaurants. Staff were very welcoming, the room felt modern with good bathroom. Room was very clean and the bed comfortable. Nice breakfast.
Our room was on the second floor and the last flight of stairs we quite steep and creaky. Some people may find using the stairs difficult.

Verified reviewWell located, close to hiking trailhead and restaurants. Rooms were clean with individual bathrooms.
No soundproofing, can hear neighbours talking. No aircon, so rooms get quite warm in summer. Rooms are pretty bare.

Verified reviewQuiet place, clean rooms and comfy bed.
Walls are very thin and you hear everything from the corridor or neighbouring rooms. One of our rooms had water problems. Breakfast was quite limited.

Verified reviewA nice family run hotel in a beautiful position. Great location for starting the Theth - Valbone hike (a short 5 min walk to the start of the trail). We stayed in the cabin next to the hotel. This was nice and views and generally very comfortable. There is a very nice restaurant next door called the Gurra Family Restaurant. This had great food with good sized portions.
There were a few power cuts but I think this is the case everywhere in Theth due to the remote location. Other than this everything was great!

Verified reviewConvenient location, charming look and front patio with Mountain View’s
Very noisy rooms, you can hear every word what next door neighbors are talking and every step from above. No AC and it gets hot in the summer. Uncomfortable bed. Below average breakfast

Verified reviewThe breakfast was amazing. I wasn't sure what to expect, especially because I have a gluten allergy, but I was able to eat most of the food provided (except the bread and local pancakes). The location was also amazing, It was walkable to most popular hikes in the area. And there were great options for dinner in the area after hiking.

Verified reviewI don't know if it was just the room we had, so I don't want to generalize, and this feedback is only towards the room we had, but: the one window the room had was facing directly to the only way passage from outside to the rooms' corridor, so basically if it was kept with the curtain open you literally had no privacy in the room because of people passing, and if you kept them closed in order to have some light there was only one light in the ceiling, a cold light, that was giving the vibe of a dentist waiting room lighting, also cause the bed was facing just the wall and this awful lighting. We highly recommend putting at least two lamps on the bedside. Also I understand the rule of no food in the room, but I feel like a banana or a sandwich should always be allowed in rooms, if not to eat them there, to keep them and eat them in a walking or something. When we asked if we could bring some in the room, the staff was kind enough to agree to that. Also the electricity in our room went away multiple times, which is understandable in a mountain situation, maybe a sign to tell people about it could be beneficial, especially if maybe there are specific times in which this happen so one could avoid to do a shower or something in the middle of a black out.

Verified reviewIt is modern and well sealed so no flies can enter etc. We stayed in the outhouse on the right. This js very cosy with air conditioned rooms, if required. Bed is comfy and the shower is great. It is so close to the bus stop and Theth church.
Shelves or a plastic stack of shelves are needed in that bathroom along with a place to hang the towels to dry. It would be nice to be greeted with a little bit of warmth when you arrive or when it is breakfast time, have tables cleared after breakfast and not food/ plates left piled up on the counter in the breakfast room. The music choice for breakfast also was rap music - which I love in a bar or a night out but not so much in the middle of a very chilled place at 8am. This might be something to consider. This is nothing to do with the property but if you bring suitcases without a car, you will need to get a 1-2 minute taxi to drive you down to the property from the bus stop - the road itself is all gravel and unpaved to get to the hotels in the main town.

Verified reviewFriendly staff, I manage to get rid of the spiders and they came to clean it. Cute chalet but basic facilities.
Not exactly what you see in the pictures, we thought we will have few chalets next to each lther but the one we booked was the only one there. Few spiders in the room and lots of spiders web, it's in nature but you would expect a better cleaning before you reach there. Breakfast very basic.

Tiny point but a hairdryer in room would be great addition.

Verified reviewIdeal location — no need to drive far on rough roads. The staff kindly prepared our breakfast to take away the night before, as we had an early departure.
There’s no air conditioning, so if you plan to stay in during the scorching afternoon heat, it can get quite stuffy. Also, there’s no mosquito screen.

Verified reviewBed was comfy, breakfast was nice, but there’s room for improvement…
We booked the deluxe cabin and not much privacy there. The big glass window over looks the common garden area where guests hang out and walk in and out the hotel. Also a little mini fridge and an electric water kettle would have been nice.
