Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaNo cutlery, so no cups for coffee or glasses for water. The cabins are quite close to each other with no barrier, so limited privacy.
Beautiful new buildings with great design. The food was spectacular. Views were amazing. Staff were on top of their game. Helped a lot with organising transport.

SwedenThis does not take away anything from that this is a very great place but somehow some of the restaurant staff seem to think you were in the way of them and gave a very bored and tired impressenion. I spent 19 days in Albania this summer and almost everywhere the people were very welcoming and warm trying to tend to your needs and beyond. That was not the case here. You almost refrained from asking them and I hope i caught them on a bad day. They were nice but something wasn´t welcoming. The guy arranging the boats were great though!
Extraordinary location with more than fantastic views of Komani lake. The houses are spacious and with a perfect rustic but yet splendid standard. The lawn is a nice place to hang out as well. I stayed one night and then onto Shala river which was very convenient since there is a daily morning boat there. The restaurant served me a very delicious dinner with large portions which can be enjoyed from the terrace. Great breakfast as well.

GermanyThere is no self catering facility. But the food from the hotel is very lovely .
The view is exceptional. This is what makes it the best. It’s secluded and quiet. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The boat ride from koman to the accommodation is worth it although. The 90 minutes through windy roads before that made my children very sick so have some motion sickness pills ready ❤️

CanadaWhen we arrived, our room was'nt ready. We didn't mind waiting, but when we finally got the keys the people (6) who were in the room before had their luggages all around, were chilling there, changing their bathing suit, etc. And after a while, they left. But other people who were leaving as well and waiting for their boat put their towels in front of our house to get sun and chilled there too, even if they weren't guests anymore. Anyway, not a big deal, but we chose this accommodation for calm and peace and we didn't have it at the beginning.
Amazing stay on Koman lake. The view was breathtaking, the room was clean and the food was good. I recommend!

United KingdomIt’s not a complaint but it would be helpful to have information available eg in rooms about times of breakfast and other food service - this isn’t made clear on arrival. Also exact information about times and cost of trips. Possibly some advice about the canoes eg what to do in the case of a capsize, any warnings about wind making it difficult to return. However this is all part of the laid back ‘take responsibility for yourself’ culture. At certain times of the day plastic bottles float down the river making swimming less attractive. Taking time to fish these out would be great.
Beautiful location and view, comfortable bed, great sitting area outside with giant cushions, good bathroom. The food was some of the best I’ve had. Even pasta in tomato sauce was delicious. The breakfast was traditional with variations each day. It was possible to swim off the pontoon and borrow the canoes for free. Staff were a little diffident and laid back but very helpful when asked directly for help especially Gerzimi and Andrea who really added to the experience. The trip to Shala river was wonderful.

Spain“We didn’t like that the restaurant offers very few food options. They have a menu for meals, but no snacks at all (no chips, nuts, ice cream, cookies, etc.), so if you don’t bring anything yourself, there’s no option other than sitting down for a full meal at the restaurant. On the other hand, the kayak service is not well managed. They charge €10 per person, but no one helps you with the kayak, life jackets, etc. — you have to do everything yourself. We believe the hotel is in a wonderful location, but the service could be greatly improved.”
“The hotel is in a wonderful location by the lake, the views are stunning, and the wooden cabin where we stayed was very well equipped, clean, and full of charm. Everything was very clean and in good condition.”

5 stinet is a great place with WONDERFUL location. I’ve stayed1 night in the house and 1 night in the hotel room. Both were perfect. Hotel is new, so everything is great. Hotel staff helped me a lot. Breakfasts are full and filling. Lunches and dinners are not expensive, I haven’t expected that. Wifi is good in the main building and can be a bit weak in the houses.

United KingdomIt would be good if there were parasols or umbrellas for relaxing under during the day. Temperatures were 33°+ and some shade would have been great during the day.
The accommodation and the guesthouse were fantastic. There was a great range of food and drinks available for lunch and dinner. The staff were young and inexperienced, but generally very friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome.

GermanyThe outdoor activities offered were great, but only if the weather plays along. Unfortunately, it rained heavily on one of the two days we stayed, which limited what we could do. It would be great if the restaurant could offer some indoor options like board games to borrow or rent, or perhaps suggest some rainy-day alternatives. The bathroom had an unpleasant smell, which probably came from the pipes, and the TV didn’t work. There's no mobile network, which is understandable given the remote mountain location, but the Wi-Fi worked well.
We had a lovely stay at 5 Stinet! The food was absolutely amazing, truly delicious, and the restaurant itself was beautifully designed and very cozy. The whole place was clean and well-maintained, and the atmosphere was wonderfully quiet, perfect for relaxing. We especially enjoyed the stunning view of the mountains. The service was of a high standard and very professional. Transport from Shkoder to Koman and then to 5 Stinet went smoothly, and the return trip was just as easy (Ferry Berisha).

ItalyWe found a lot of trash both in the water and inland. The meals were tasty but with very limited offer. Our cabin had a lot of dirt under the bed and the bathroom was flooding when showering, it feels like it needs a renovation and more attention from the owners.
The view is absolutely beautiful, and the instructions to get there were clear. We liked that they offer meals and some activities, especially the kayak tour.

The location was unique and the view was incredible. It was a very relaxing, comfortable stay. The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. We walked to the next village which was interesting and hired kayaks on the lake. The next morning we took a trip to Shala River organized by our hosts. Staff were busy with day tours but very helpful. Wifi was good.

AustraliaWe would have loved if there was white wine/snacks and next time we would pack our own. That said, would defs not stop us from going back!!!
Location - the location is beautifully set, and close to Shala River (about 10 mins on a speed boat). The view is amazing but it is also so amazing to be able to hear the sounds of nature given 5 Stinet is so remotely set (felt so so safe though). The views of where the water meets the mountains from your room is unparalleled- we loved it!! Staff - the family that runs 5 Stinet are so lovely and so so kind/thoughtful. We really felt looked after and cared for over our 2 night stay. The team were always helpful when we asked them questions and were able accomodate our needs. Logistics - 5 Stinet is well connected with Ferry Berisha so the transfers are sooooo easy. As part of the room cost we had free ferry transfers to and from 5 Stinet. The 5 Stinet team organised vans for us from Tirana to Koman, and from Koman to Schroder. They also helped us with our transport to Valbone. Room - the rooms were so clean and new. They were also very well equipped, with a double and single bed, and a wardrobe. Importantly: the room had a great split system which cooled the room perfectly!! Bathroom was modern. In front of each villa there is a table and chairs which was lovely to sit at in the afternoon. Food - the food was plentiful and we were so well fed!! We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner there. Breakfast was included and lunch and dinner was reasonably priced considering the portions and deliciousness! All the food felt locally sourced and traditional Albanian dishes (yummy fish, chicken, greek salads, bread, tzatziki, roasted vegetables, baked cheese). Drinks - 5 Stinet offers water, soft drinks, beers, and red wine (maybe other drinks but that’s all we tried). Activities - 5 Stinet run a daily tour to Shala River but you can only stay one hour and it is an extra €10. We went twice because we loved it so much!! You can also kayak and hike. The kayaks are for 1-3 people. Our favourite activity was swimming - there are two swimming spots: 1.
