Amazing property and stay, beautiful rooms and very friendly staff. Staff were super helpful. Shala river is very close and costs €10 per adult for the trip. Owners were great and made our stay comfortable. We took the kayaks out on the second day towards the Berisha island and then went left into the bay. I would 100% recommend this! It was a better experience than shala river (which was also incredible) but that bay is a hidden gem! We were the only people there and it was stunning!

We loved all of it, only thing I would recommend is having the kayaking included in the cost of the room. With the hotel being so isolated (not a bad thing as the location is beautiful) and limited things to do, it would be better if the 1 activity that is available is included as part of your stay. Also I would recommend a leaflet in the room with information (breakfast, lunch and dinner times, cost of trip to shala river, where to go kayaking etc).

The Hotel is new and beautiful and the location is incredible. We spent only night there, and wished we had at least 3 more. Great for families, large rooms, and clean bathrooms.

The Hotel is new, so is the staff. So the check in was unusual, there was not a front desk with someone collecting your payment, it was rather someone in the restaurant asking to pay with cash. Keep that in mind too, hotels in Albania want to be paid by cash, not card. The same goes for restaurants, all cash. I would suggest have some clear explanation about the tours, which was quite confusing for us to understand, and some board games for families as there is not much to do (which is not a bad thing, just when traveling with kids, it may be helpful).

The property had a very beautiful view. The restaurant is decent.

There is nothing to do. You can’t swim in the lake without a life jacket and even then. The doc at the hotel is a little unpleasant. Also up stream from Hotel there is a lot of trash in the lake. You have to pay extra to go to the river and the price for a small ride of the lake is unreasonable. You can kayak but again the price is too much. The staff are just some young guys who do a fine job but do not have training in hospitality and they seemed a little Uncomfortable.

    Property response:

hello dear Sam kayaking 10€/person is much? shala river visit 20€/person is much? we don't have understand very much your visit. thank you

Staff were lovely and helpful! Food was delicious - recommend the Greek salad & Bruschetta Views and location were stunning and peaceful

Air con didn’t really do its job for me. It only got to as low as 19 degrees and I couldn’t sleep 2/3 nights properly.

Ideal location away from turist crowds . Amazing views, clean facilities and polite staff. Good breakfast with a lot of traditional foods. Short distance by boat to Shala River.

Beautiful place, everything top notch really, great food.

Big minus is the service though. The staff as in workers that are there for the season are super nice and we had a friendly chat, but whoever runs the place (nobody seems to know the owner) should work on that one. We (as in myself, my pregnant wife and our toddler) decided to take a private boat because we didn’t want to hurry to get the ferry at 9 in the morning in Koman. They do offer a boat at 5pm for 10 EUR per person or a private pickup for 100 EUR, as we wanted to be a bit more flexible, didn’t know how the kid reacts to a small and possibly loud boat and my wife might get sick, we thought a private boat is the safer bet - don’t do it and get the 5pm boat instead! When we got there they had forgotten about us so we waited 30min for the guy to come to pick us up. He then ran that boat like escaping a tsunami, we fell/crashed into the wall a couple of times. I like driving fast, but not with a toddler and a pregnant lady on board especially if I see that they fall over and hired me personally. That said we got to the hotel, nobody said hello, we did not feel very welcome. Probably the timing wasn’t perfect as the restaurant was packed with people doing their lunch brake, which we would understand if somebody once would have said so. But after waiting for a couple of minutes, then finding somebody in the restaurant on our own, the literally only thing the guy said was to pay for the room (no „hello“ or how was the trip or welcome to 5 stinët…) I’m not a huge fan of smalltalk but that was quite low. Also we were planning to check on site which activity would suit us best, as we are not the most flexible gang ever (pregnant wife + toddler) that of course didn’t seem possible and I left it at online research. I mean nobody tried to sell us anything that’s great, but we probably would have bought something.

Beautiful location, secluded and offers great views of the lake. Clean and comfy.

Food was hit and miss but overall ok. Breakfast is simple but nice. They need to offer more than one hot drink!

Amazing property and rooms. It's like a 5 star hotel. It is amazing to sit in the garden area with a view of the river. The good and best part is the ferry ride to the hotel and the ferry port is included, so they will drop straight to the hotel, rather switching from the ferry then changing boats utilising more time unlike stays in other hotels .

Modern, very comfortable rooms, spacious indoor area, beautiful panoramic views, yummy food

There is no swimming spot and the water is dirty (this is not the shala river), a swimming pool would be a great addition. There is no lounging area besides the tables, e.g. balcony does not have any furniture. The restaurant is slow, but staff is very nice.

Really relaxing stay just what we wanted. Great peaceful view from the room balcony and noise free windows. Staff were friendly and not annoyingly helpful. You can rent kayaks, swim (in life jackets which seems odd in the beginning but feels good in the water). We liked timing of ferries and arrangements of transfer from/to Tirana. Various options for lunch and dinner.

If you can’t leave without snacks then bring it with you, because there is nowhere to buy it :)

The view is incredible. The rooms are comfy and spacious. The hotel is beautiful . We stayed up in the hotel not villa . If you have luggage it s a bit hard to carry uphill.

The main big negative point is the boat to get to the hotel . The hotel organize a 9 am boat ride to the hotel for free. The other option is 5 pm for 10 or 20 euro.for those who want to go to shala river they have a 10 am boat from the hotel. Be aware of those very important information to plan your coming! We were coming from theth which is a 4 hours drive ! So plan to stay nearby komani the night before to get to the 9 am boat . Otherwise in between there is no accomodation. We asked , their answer was: book with us a private boat for 100 euro! And when we asked how to get from the hotel to shala river then they answered it s another 100 euro! What they didn t tell us and i asked is that there are some people that you can order a private boat from and they take you to shala river wait for you for about 3 hours and take you to the hotel , we paid 100 euro ( better than the offer of the hotel) but still i think it could have been negociable . For the return, the morning after ! Boat is at 7:45!!! And breakfast is at 7am!!! So you have only 45 minutes to eat and get ready to wait downstairs for the boat . But but but we were at 7:03 at breakfast with other 10 people and still no breakfast until ... 7:20!!!! Nothing was ready . We had to eat in a rush , stressed by the time ! Wasn' t a relaxed and nice experience at all ! So i will say that service is bad and boat accomodation a joke .

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We're glad to hear you enjoyed the incredible views, the comfort of the rooms, and the beauty of our hotel. We would, however, like to clarify a few key points: All information regarding transportation — including the free 9:00 AM ferry transfer, alternative paid options, and the fact that our accommodation is accessible only by boat — is clearly explained in the very first message you receive upon booking. In addition, we believe it is part of responsible travel to research the area before making a reservation, especially when visiting a remote or unique destination like Komani Lake. Travelers should always be aware of logistical details and access conditions, which are not hidden — in fact, they are clearly shared on our booking page and confirmed again via email. It is not reasonable to book a stay in a foreign country without reading the essential information provided, and then expect us to rearrange transportation schedules and logistics to fit your personal preferences. We know that many of our guests who read this will agree: ➡️ A responsible traveler informs themselves and respects local conditions, schedules, and limitations. Regarding the Shala River visit, all available options and departure times are clearly explained ahead of time. It is not feasible to organize a visit after 10:00 PM when no other guests are requesting it — in such cases, we offer private visits, which understandably have an extra cost due to the use of fuel, staff time, and exclusive service. As for breakfast, it is served daily from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM. If you had simply informed us the night before that you were planning to take the 08:00 AM boat, we would have gladly prepared breakfast earlier. That said, 45 minutes is more than sufficient time for a normal breakfast — most guests enjoy their breakfast within 30–45 minutes. We are always available to support our guests and help them make the most of their visit, but it's also important to meet halfway with understanding, clear communication, and preparation. Warm regards, 5 Stinet Team

A beautiful property that is so serene, at a prime location, with stunning views of Koman Lake and the mountains surrounding it. The hotel is new, modern, spacious and clean with facilities necessary. The restaurant is amazing and the food is delicious. The staff is great - they made us feel home and welcomed with their kindness. Can’t wait to go again with my family next time around.

The room, the food, the view, the cleanliness

The staff were not trained well. Everything is pretty much self service except the restaurant. The transportation is limited.
