Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThere is very little not to love about this charming and well-maintained property. It’s important to note that the location is a bit secluded, as it sits outside of bustling St. John’s, which adds to its peaceful, private atmosphere, but does require some planning. For those who enjoy cooking, the villas are well-equipped, and it’s highly recommended to stock up on groceries, as the on-site restaurant, while delicious and beautifully presented, is on the pricey side. The friendly and attentive service at the restaurant certainly adds to the experience, making meals enjoyable despite the cost. There is also the option to order takeout through a convenient local app, though we found it to be a bit unreliable at times. Overall, the property offers a tranquil, upscale experience, perfect for those seeking both comfort and flexibility during their stay.
This property is nestled in a serene, picturesque setting, offering the perfect escape for relaxation. An added bonus is that the resort also manages a collection of elegant private villas, ensuring a wide range of accommodations for every guest. All units are immaculately maintained, reflecting the resort’s high standards, and the exceptional, attentive staff made our stay even more memorable. We thoroughly enjoyed the pristine beach and the variety of exciting water sports included in our stay. The communal pool is equally charming and inviting, ideal for unwinding under the sun. Many of the villas also feature their own private pools, adding a luxurious touch for those seeking extra privacy. Overall, this is a highly recommended property for anyone looking for a beautiful, well-managed, and relaxing getaway.

The room was spacious, pristine clean and well appointed. The food at the restaurant was excellent (if a tad pricey) and the staff were all delightful. The beach is absolutely stunning and the grounds of the hotel are great for relaxing in.

United KingdomMinor details which didn’t affect our stay too much but to help elevate the experience for future guests: We had breakfast included with our stay, but if you didn’t the prices would have added up quickly. We weren’t bothered by this personally but for a high priced ‘luxury’ resort the breakfast service at 7.30 normally wouldn’t be ready till 8am. Additionally, as the hotel became busier they switched to buffet style which was fine as we were aware there was a menu at the start of the stay that we could order from, but for other guests they might have felt there was only the buffet on offer as the menu wasn’t offered during the buffet time. Additionally a couple of days there were no towels available until 8.30/9am. As the name suggests the rooms are situated on the hilltops and you need to climb many stairs to get back up to the room. Luckily we’re young and fit but It would be nice especially for older guests to have a golf buggy service from the beach / reception to rooms. Also in the morning (until 8.30am) and evenings (after 4.30pm) there are sand flies and mosquitos at the beach so do be prepared with bug spray as we weren’t!
This is my second time at Tamarind hills - the first in 2021 before the communal hotel parts were built. I had such a great stay the first time I wanted to return to see the hotel. The resort itself is very luxurious and the communal areas are lovely. and of course stunning views of turquoise water and white sandy beaches which is the absolute highlight. There are activities such as water sports, croquet and even an indoor golf simulation course - the concierge can also help organise excursions and massages. It would have been nice to have some evening entertainment on some of the days to elevate the experience as the resort felt very quiet in the evenings. House keeping was exceptional the rooms were kept very clean, and even had an evening turndown service as an extra special touch. The bed was enormous and extremely comfortable. The kitchen was also well equipped if you wanted to do your own cooking. Most of the staff were very friendly especially the operations director. Some of the serving staff did seem a little inexperienced for a ‘5* experience’ but the beach waiters were great. Do factor in ‘island time’ for service at times though, we didn’t mind as we felt so relaxed throughout our stay. I found the food reasonably priced for the island perhaps it has changed from previous reviews but it’s comparable to London restaurants (around 30$ for a main). The lunch menu was extensive with more options if you sat in the restaurant for lunch. The food in Antigua is not amazing in general as prices are high due to importing goods, so we found the restaurant very good compared to other restaurants we’ve been too.

United StatesThe onsite gym is relatively basic - could use an upgrade but it is not a big deal as you will likely spend more time outdoors enjoying beach.
Tamarind Hills is an upscale oceanfront community with modern villas, beautiful landscaping, and exceptional views of the ocean. It was a pleasure waking up to views of the ocean and lush landscaping every day. The community has two onsite restaurants, bar, with direct access to private beach. The onsite restaurant food quality and selection is good. It is a great place to relax and unwind, very quiet. We enjoyed 8:00 am yoga classes. Additionally, we took advantage of paddleboarding and kayaking equipment available for guest use. It is offered at no cost and staff has motorized boat to check on you. The suites are well appointed with big outdoor deck and fully equipped kitchen. We enjoyed spending evenings on our private deck enjoying jacuzzi and marveling ocean views. The staff goes extra mile to make sure your stay is great. Big kudos to restaurant manager Suresh and chef Mohsine for providing extra care and making our experience memorable. Overall, villas are good for a relaxing family vacation but if you are more into activities and sightseeing I would recommend booking tours in advance with tour operators Adventure Antigua and Tropical Adventures.

United StatesWe really just don’t like the flies. Apparently it was fly season (early November) and there were sooooo many, especially if eating outside. I don’t know how it could be controlled better but it did inhibit some of the enjoyment.

The location of this resort was wonderful. They had 2 beach areas - a quiet area and a more lively one with food and bar service. The Staff was exceptional and extremely helpful. The villa I stayed in, Beach 3, was out of this world. I would highly recommend this place.

United StatesWe liked everything, but make sure that you can walk the stairs. The complex is embedded in the slope of the hill and all suits and villas are on different levels. Depending on the location, you may need to walk multiple flights of stairs to get to your room and to the beach.

United StatesNo small shop, spa or tennis courts. But we found out that they are all being built and will be running very soon. But, massage on our sea-facing Cliffside apartment was one of the best ever.
Best beach in the world. Staff super friendly and very accommodating. One of the best resorts that we visited of the many we visited on the island.

SerbiaMosquitoes, as in all other tropical places. Repellent is a must in the evening.
Beautiful resort located next to one of the best beaches on the island. Beach is never crowded and have enough towels, umbrellas and sunbeds for guests. Drinks and food from the bar menu are served at the beach. All suites and villas are more/less on the hill but the view compensates for the climbing effort. Our suite was well furnished, clean, with the stunning sea view. We liked the food in Wilde Tamarind restorant, menu was not extensive but meals were tasty and well presented, on couple of days and evenings they offered special menu. We also loved the view from the breakfast restaurant ( and breakfast options). Staff was positive and responsive to our requests, on occassion we had to wait a bit longer to be served but that did not bother us. It was easy to organise tours to different parts of the island, resort is 7mins drive to Jolly Harbour, 20mins to Fig Tree Drive and 30-40mins to Shirley Lookout, English Harbour, St. John's. Overall atmosphere throughout resort is very calm and relaxing, 100% to our taste.

United StatesNothing that we didn’t like.
We absolutely loved this property and the staff was so nice. We usually don’t like resorts because there are too many people and privacy is nonexistent, Tamarind Hills was the complete opposite, so to us it was perfect. The villas are private, we never had to worry about finding loungers on the beach, no matter what time we went. We never utilized the pool, as we are here for the beach. The breakfast is ok, nothing spectacular but it was enough to start our day off. We did rent a car so we tried out a new beach every day but would still end the day at beach at the resort.
