How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewthe location is absolutely stunning. the views of the beach from the cabin and the night sky were to die for. and they had the sweetest staff working there, always making sure you’re having the best stay possible!
I think the only thing is that you have to prepare yourself for mosquitoes and tiny critters but that’s kind of a given cause it’s an open area and that’s their natural habitat.

Verified reviewMy husband and a couple of friends booked this trip last November. We loved it! The staff was very good, the food at Julia's was very good, breakfast everyday was very good. If you want your room serviced, just ask. If you need anything, just ask. They are very accommodating. We all loved the outdoor showers, it was very unique. The grounds are full of beautiful flowers and greenery. They are doing great improvements around the property, don't worry you won't hardly notice them working. The improvements are great additions. If you are expecting a high end resort it is not that, but it is a great place for relaxing on a great beach and enjoying Antigua. Special thanks to Cliff and Ariel!
My husband and can't think of anything. Oh, take bug spray. You need it anywhere on the island at dusk and into the evening.

There are bedbugs on the sun loungers, the cushions are not washed and I was getting very bitten. This was very uncomfortable. Some of the staff were also very disagreeable which makes you feel a bit unwelcome

Verified reviewWe spent 2 nights (Thursday, Friday) two weeks ago. I reserved a king room with Seaview. The correspondence with the resort via Booking . com. I arranged a taxi from airport to the hotel via the hotel. Though it is $10 more than what is supposed to be at the taxi stand, we wanted to have a worry free transportation after a long flight. The view from our cabin was beautiful and our bed was cute with mosquito net around the bed. There room is rustic and the shower is outdoor. It was fine showering during the day but it was very dark at night. I was worried about the bugs and other creatures that may pop up. The staff were nice and friendly. The beach and water were clean and beautiful. The food and drinks were good. We knew that the restaurant was closed for dinner so we ate at OJ restaurant and bar for dinner.
There is not much around and if we had to stay longer, we would rent a car though driving in Antigua is not for the faint of heart. The big reason that I am not giving a high rating is that we experienced water issue on our second day. I woke up to get ready and there was no water coming out of the faucet and shower & we couldn’t even flush the toilet :-(. I didn’t expect this from a pricey place. According to the staff, this happens often and they are waiting for a water truck to fill the tanks. Luckily, we were not in a rush to go somewhere on time. I would be stressing out if we had to leave that morning for the airport.

The water stopped and started again a few hours later once or twice in our two week stay. It didn't impact us massively though as we were drinking bottled water.

Verified reviewStunning beach side location. Great restaurant and bar. Delicious breakfast. (FYI - not a quick sitting, if that's what you're after, but not an issue as was made fresh, very tasty and a great location). Friendly and attentive staff who looked after us very well and provided good tips for things to see and do. Easy parking. Easy walk to a number of other beaches /bars /restaurants if desired.
Wish the bar was open later. (closed around sunset) Would be good if rooms were made up /freshened up every other night or so without needing to request it. (nothing done if nothing requested)

Unfortunately we had an issue with the toilet filling up the first night and flooding the bathroom (thankfully clean water), no water for a few hours early morning on our second day, got plagued by mosquitoes (probably the outdoor shower) and felt a bit isolated as the only people staying there the second night but not of these spoilt our stay.

Verified reviewThe staff and the rooms were amazing. Our cabin was right on the beach and we were provided chair cushions and our own cabana and chairs. The breakfast was always really fresh to order.
This is not so much the cabin rather the tropical environment, but there is a lot of mosquitos so come prepared with bug spray. I do wish the on-site restaurant was open later, but OJs was right next door.

Verified reviewAmazing location on a deserted beach, bed was really comfy and day beds outside were great for relaxing when you come out of the sea. The beach bar was very handy for lunch and frequent visits to the bar, the staff were lovely and really looked after us. Night time security at the property.
The beach bar closed at 6pm which meant we felt a little isolated in the evenings. There is a restaurant next door but this closed early one evening leaving us without anywhere to eat.
