How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

- First thing you see in the camp are shops to buy tourist crap - The show was not authentic and had very annoying music (fire show) - The breakfast is very early (7am) - Its directly in the DXB flightpath - Very close to the city. Lights, cars, train, etc...

We would also like to clarify that the shops are not required, and patronage is entirely optional. On another note, we would like to mention that we have identified a quite miscue during the day. However, we would like to emphasize that there is a specific musical accompaniment during the fire and Tanoura shows. For guests who prefer not to participate in the stage show, we have many nice locations with service away from the stage. Additionally, we would like to inform you that our breakfast service is available from 6:30 to 9:30 AM, and we are able to make adjustments to accommodate guest needs. The food is nowhere near the expectation from the description "Buffet catered by Michelin awarded Al Khayma Heritage Restaurant". I don't comment on Arabian food as it is up to personal taste. But the barbecue lamb and beef is not really any better than home BBQ

Verified reviewStaying here was such a wonderful experience!! Everything was as described or even better: very nice and comfortable tent, clean toilets, amazing food (and so much variety and quantity that it's hard to try it all!) and outstanding service from everyone at the camp (Riad and Marwan were in charge of our stay and always took care that everything went well, but really everyone was so professional and friendly that it was a pleasure!). The activities that are included were great too (we didn't book any extras as we just wanted to enjoy the programme without rushing), and we liked that you get plenty of free time to do them and to enjoy the camp as you wish and at your pace. Another plus for us was the fact that the pick up point is easily reachable with public transport (bus number 16, around one hour ride to connect to the metro in Dubai), so if you're not in a hurry you don't need to take a taxi or have a car. It's just important to know that the place is indeed "touristy" and, due to the location close to Dubai and its airport, not really isolated in the desert, but instead of that you get a very well organised, safe and professional stay, which in our case even exceeded our expectations. All in all, we can absolutely recommend this experience, especially staying overnight (which we found much nicer than only spending a few hours)! It was definitely a highlight of our stay in the UAE and we really hope we can repeat it!! 😊

Night shows were a little bit... expected, so not that much moving. A heater inside the room would have been helpful during the night(quite cold). Hot water for the shower is required. Bad timing for me, there were lots of sites under construction around the camping.

Verified reviewAl Khayma Elite Glamping offers a perfect blend of a camping experience with full hotel-like service. The bed was very comfortable, with warm blankets and soft pillows, and the tent was spotlessly clean. Although the bathroom was outside the tent, it was well-constructed and kept very clean, so it wasn’t an issue at all. The food service was excellent, and we were very impressed with the quality. However, do note that the nights and mornings were very cold, so be prepared! One thing to consider is that the adventure activities, like the Red Dune Safari, dune bashing, and sandboarding, were about 1.5 hours away from the camp. While everything was well-organized, the travel time back and forth took quite a bit of time. Next time, I’d ask for more detailed information beforehand to better plan the activities. Overall, it was a wonderful stay with minor adjustments needed for activity planning. Highly recommended for those looking for a luxurious desert experience!

No hot water and we were there in the winter, it was too chilly for showers especially for young kids.
