So upon our arrival till departure, all the staffs there, Iwan, Orfi and Angel, were so helpful and tried to make our stay convenient, and to this, we may say they did a super job. 👏👏👏

The resort offers an American or Asian breakfast. It takes about 1.5 hour from the nearest airport. In a secluded area. But when we arrive, we are greeted with such amazing view! Nice property, secluded and tranquil. We are facilitated with full service, and our children comfort is well taken care off. They are super happy because they can harvested their own vegetable to table. They are building new properties, single unit villas with their own private pools and facilities. Perfect for future romantic escape. Not to forget to mention their exceptional restaurant, Umanga'a. We have a top notch dinning experience celebrating our Wedding Anniversary. We would love to going back to Umarato in our future holiday.

All guest rooms at the accommodation feature air conditioning and a safety deposit box. The hotel is beautifully designed and in a beautiful area very close to some picturesque beaches. The staff are very friendly and attentive and make it easy to organise trips and activities so you can experience Sumba. Surf lessons are a lot of fun and the village tour and waterfall tour are both great. Cocktails were really good, as was the food at breakfast. The hotel seems to have a good relationship with the local people and seems to have genuinely benefitted Sumba.

We had a great time at Maringi Sumba where we spent 3 nights: - Accommodation: we stayed in a beautiful bamboo pavilion that had everything you need; the cleaning team came twice a day and made sure the room is tidy and spotless; we appreciated the complimentary laundry service since we had a 3 week vacation in Indonesia - Staff: welcoming, friendly, polite, paying attention to small details, remembering our names, explaining the facilities, activities, etc, they were the highlight of our stay, especially Alice who was our guide - Communication: smooth, fast and professional via WhatsApp, helped with booking trips for us and with any inquiry we had - Food: high quality products, home made, tasty, a great variety of choices, we enjoyed every meal - Trips: we did 2 tours through Maringi (Lamboya and Marapu) both were good to learn more about the island and the culture; we had a student with us(without a tour guide) during both trips and we felt that the information provided was very minimal, we were expecting more details about the culture/island/traditions etc, not sure if it’s the students’ job to know this, maybe consider having a professional guide instead or train the students for this purpose which will add great value. The restaurant included in the Marapu tour was disappointing, no appetizer, no dessert, no drinks, and portion was too small for two people. We missed the hotel’s food which was far better. The prices on the brochure were not accurate, please make sure you list the correct price/ person and not per group. - Location: quiet location, not far from the airport, we enjoyed the pool, the yoga class and the rest of the facilities (pool), the only downside is the lack of beach access but we didn’t mind since we booked tours to explore the island - Overall: great quality for the price, attentive staff, hopefully we will return back soon to Sumba to explore even more, thank you for making our stay memorable!

We loved our experience and our wonderful guest captains Adji and Maxy made our stay so memorable. The hotels location is situated 1.5 hours from the airport which added to us getting to see the island of Sumba and its beauty.

It is quiet and remote but we really enjoyed our excursions to the water, to villages and waterfalls. The food was excellent!!

At the resort, all rooms have a patio with a sea view. At Rua Beach Resort Sumba all rooms include air conditioning and a private bathroom. What we really liked is the hospitality in this resort. Ben helped us a lot with looking for nice locations to go to. The food was also really good. The owner is Italian so the pasta is on point. The room was clean with an excellent working AC (pretty special when in Indonesia if you ask me). The shower pressure and temperature were also perfect. Thank you and we hope to see you again!
