AustraliaThis is a genuine country experience on an estancia that’s been there since the mid-1800s. Owners Carmen and Joselo are backed up by gaucho Mario who manages the horses and sheep, as well as the estancias grounds a d gardens, and accompanied us on our horse riding along with his two sheepdogs; Lorene, who cooked us three fantastic meals each day (and Joselo who fires up the wood stove to cook assado!) and our housekeeper whose name I don’t know but who was always smiling and friendly and looked after us too. Beautiful starry skies, lovely walks to the river and lagoon, lots of birdlife, great selection of books and artefacts. Feels like family, but with as much of your own space as you want. And an ‘honesty bar’ to enhance the magnificent sunsets!
