The place is comfortable, beautifully situated, clean. The staff, especially Jennifer and Kasib, made us feel we were looked after at all time. We were supremely well looked after by Adam and his team. The food was all local, fresh and beautifully cooked. Pemba Lodge really is one of a kind if you are looking for a simple, natural getaway. The place is natural, quiet and unpretentious.
The place is natural, quiet and unpretentious. It does not invade the environment, and does not give the feel of wanting to make money out of you. It is very small - a capacity of 12 beds only - and so the sense of peace and harmony with the environment is deep. A rare find which I will return to. You need to be prepared to walk a little way to the lodge if the tides are low, and you need to be a nature lover. We had 2 brilliant snorkelling trips - other ventures are offered. The food was delicious - beautifully prepared, yet simple. Most of it is drawn from the island itself and is fantastically healthy stuff. I was a single traveler, and recommend this for singles.
