What an absolute gorgeous gem of a hotel in Stone Town. Truly authentic building and decor and incredible bedrooms. I stayed in the ‘Kate’ room which was utterly delightful. Beautiful private terrace overlooking the town, enormous bedroom (beautifully decorated) and an open-air bathtub adjoining. Super private. Gorgeous to wake up in the morning and open the doors and feel the breeze filter through. Beautiful bed linen and towels (woven locally) and handmade soaps. If you are into aesthetics, then this is the place for you. I can’t say enough to rate the hotel. All the staff were absolutely delightful and super attentive (as a single female traveller it was very much appreciated). The Manager was extremely kind and friendly. Also organised a fantastic private tour of the town for me which was brilliant. The rooftop restaurant is to die for. The best, authentic and freshest of food I have ever eaten.The taster plate experience with sunset and cocktails was dreamy. Amazing views and ambiance. Didn’t want it to end! The Secret Garden restaurant is also absolutely worth a visit. I attended on a Friday evening when there was live music being performed. Truly magical. Again, the food was just amazing and the staff all super kind.

I could say many things about this amazing property, starting with the beautiful rooms and the constant assistance by its super kind staff but to be honest I was particularly impressed by the location that is a real wonder of nature: this place is a paradise. I was upgraded in a Suite and I could enjoy one of the best sunset I can remember in recent times, not to mention the pristine beach. One special mention to the chef who assisted us personally and prepared some unforgettable Italian "spaghetti ai frutti di mare"!

Staff were friendly, right from the shuttle driver to housekeeping. They gave recommendations on recreational activities and facilitated them kindly. It was a brief stay but a wonderful one. The room was large and clean with a comfortable bed. The pool area was gorgeous and lush for an airport hotel.

The property is gorgeous, with great antique styling, clean and comfortable rooms, a great location outside of the chaos of Stone Town, but a 2 minute walk away, all around amazing hotel. And what made it even better was the staff, who were always incredibly friendly and very open to doing whatever necessary to make the guests feel at home, trying new recipes, etc. Absolutely recommend!     I travel a lot and stay in many beautiful places but the Zanzibar Palace hotel is exceptional on every level. The rooms are gorgeous (I stayed in Sultana with a balcony and big bathtub), the staff are incredibly helpful, the food is delicious (I absolutely adored the passion and avocado juice and drank a lot of it!). The location is also exceptional…in the heart of Stone Town just 5 mins walk from the sea and 30 mins drive from the airport. Normally when I go to places again I like to try somewhere different but I will 100% be returning to this place! Thank you to Daniela and her brilliant team 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

    the staff is very friendly and accommodating. one employee at the resort overcharged me but before we checked out I was refunded a whole 931 American dollars and I had no idea I was overcharges. this was a beautiful surprise and I was so amazed at this people's honesty.i will definitely be back again soon

    Activities are great but most places are teeming with...

    Activities are great but most places are teeming with tourists. It's probably better to be taken for activities privately (price will be about the same anyways). Better to book through existing tour operators because the freelance guides always add extra onto the price. Night Food market is a must but be careful not to be ripped off, they just handed you plates of food & then charged a ridiculous amount afterwards. Cape Town Fish Market is a must for a sunset dinner. Prison Island & Nakupenda was average, they were overrun with people. The Spice Farms & Slave Chambers are a must to understand the passed history & Coral Caves have stunning natural pools to swim in deep underground. The North has Mnemba Island, great for snorkeling. The East is windy & good for Kite Surfing. The South is supposed to be good for deepsea fishing but myself & another group only caught white Snapper, no Game Fish.

    Zanzibar is an amazing destination.

    Zanzibar is an amazing destination. Don't just go to the beaches also visit the villages and learn the culture. Try Sea Walk and Quad Bike is a must. Don't leave Zanzibar without going to Mnemba Island for Dolohines best sighting. In stone town don't miss Stone Town Cafe for their Hearty Beef Burger they call it Sandwitch. At night just stick to Forodhani for all kinds of food.
