Wonderful castle and walks around and through the city were most enjoyable. The area is flat so no problems with steep inclines. Interesting history with many photo opportunities. Even took advantage of a local folk singing concert. We came away most refreshed and look forward to visiting again.Guest review byEvans - 6.0
A town with less population.

The location is amazing, and the pizza in the restaurant is great. We did not expect to find such good pizza in such a tiny place. :) It's dog-friendly, which is a great plus! The house we booked was well-equipped and in very good condition overall. However, I wish the management had taken better care to check if the previous owners had cleaned properly after leaving. It wasn't disgustingly dirty, but the previous occupants definitely did not follow the cleaning instructions. There were also too few cleaning supplies, and I wish the rugs were labeled—toilet rugs, for example, should be labeled so people don't use them to clean other parts. ;-)Guest review byThomasSweden - 10.0

The house is in Kristvallabrunn, near but not in Nybro. From Kristvallabrunn, it is a short drive to Kalmar. Nybro apparently has a James Bond museum but we didn't find that out until after our stay.Guest review byBR&sometimesTJSweden - 10.0

Lonely Planet describes Oskarshamn as (paraphrasing) "pleasant enough, but not interesting". The main reason to come here us to take a ferry, after all. I got to spend more time here than planned thanks to a last-minute ferry cancellation; while Oskarshamn is not a bad place to be stuck in for a night, it's definitely not something to put on your bucket list. Notes: - Restaurant Cecil is decent - Adels Hotel is very close to the Gotland Ferry terminal and quite cheap; the fact there is very little personnel on-site makes for an odd experience, though. - Oskarshamn is pretty small and walkable, but somewhat hilly.Guest review byJohannes - 8.0

The castle was a great tour—even in the pouring rain. We drove to Oland and swam in the Baltic Sea. It was a nice hike—easy 4-5 miles. Walking around the walled area of Kalmar was nice as well. We had dinner at Ernesto’s which was delicious.Guest review byJennyUnited States
