The room is big and outside there is a terrace where you can see the sunset. The location is quiet and peaceful, with a lot of little ducks and birds. The owner of the lodge, Julio, is a great host and also guide. The hotel fee includes 3 meals and tours, kayak, etc. Julio is also excellent as a local guide and told us a lot of history about Titicaca and the local life and culture. The room was large, super comfortable bed, spotlessly clean, we took a lake view room and it was well worth it. We ate at these restaurant a lot, the food was excellent. Lake Titicaca was absolutely wonderful.
Lake Titicaca was absolutely wonderful. However, we did spend a night in Puno (on the land). The Airbnb was very hard to find and once we did, we realized that it did not have any heating and the shower was lukewarm. Even though it was a beautiful property, we needed these amenities, so we left and checked into another hotel. Unfortunately, the hotel had heaters that barely worked and lukewarm water. Isla (island) Amantaní and Taquile are both very remote, about a three hour boat ride from Puno, But I would highly recommend going for a very unique and traditional experience with a Peruvian family. When you book a tour, they usually take you to both islands, but an overnight with a family on Amantaní. I would recommend two nights because it is far and then you have time to fully relax and enjoy the community!! It was also fun to stay in the home with other travelers, four other people from three different countries in Europe! We hiked to the top of the island for sunset where there is a beautiful memorial/ worship site for Pachamama (Mother Earth). We stayed in Puno for two nights and it was perfect for visiting Lake Titicaca. The town itself is simple but has everything you need—restaurants, shops, and easy access to the lake tours. This is the most peaceful place on earth. The island offers the most sacred experiences. We spent two nights there, eat completely organic food from the garden, our host was amazing. If you want an authentic Lake Titicaca experience, this is it. Their 11 year old son took us to the fountain of youth, the Pachamama and Pachatata temples on top of the mountain. We had a wonderful experience with a local Shaman. This place is well cared for, host and family are the most loving people, sharing their lifestyl with their guest. There are no cars on the island, you walk everywhere. The boat ride to their place was breath taking as it is on the south side of the island, very private and quite.Guest review byAnonymous - 6.0

I like the Plaza de Armas and the restaurants in the city, good prices and a lot of little markets with a very reasonable prices. The hotels were also reasonable. I would avoid to sleep in the islands just visit for a day but not stay, specially during winter due to the very cold weather and most of the hotels do not provide a heater unless you request.Guest review byTompkins
