- From £56.56 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very good - What previous guests thought, 356 reviewsThe staff were wonderful. We had planned to give Glow Worm Caves a miss even though we stayed at Waitomo, cos our little one was scared of caves and didn't wanna waste money. The front desk manager gave us directions to a bushwalk where you could see worms for free. It was one of the most exceptional sights we've seen!!Guest review byBuddhikaSri Lanka

We booked an excursion with The Legendary Black Water...
We booked an excursion with The Legendary Black Water Rafting Experience Waitomo Caves and it was amazing! Our guides, Garret & Alicia, were fun, helpful, informative, and made sure were were safe in the cave & the water; this is is a must do! They take pictures for you because it would be impossible to float in a tube & take pictures yourself.Guest review byJLTruchardUnited States - 10.0
I enjoyed the peacefulness of the countryside.
I enjoyed the peacefulness of the countryside. The have a small kitchen, with gas oven cooker, fridge. There are two bedrooms. Double bed. and the other has bunks. The shower is very small. Big outdoor bathtub! We stayed there as we visited Waitomo Caves the next day. We bought our own food to cook.Guest review byIvyNew Zealand - 10.0
Our tour of the caves with a local guide was great.
Our tour of the caves with a local guide was great. It made all the difference that it was a local Māori guide telling us the historical story of the caves and those that first offered it for viewing. Our guide was funny and informative. The walkways were well lit and we felt safe the whole way round. Our grandchildren 11yrs and 8yrs loved the boat trip in the dark and were mesmerised by all the glow-worms.Guest review byJoanneNew Zealand - 10.0
On this trip we went with Spellbound Cave Explorer.
On this trip we went with Spellbound Cave Explorer. Went to two caves the first, after a short walkthrough bush we entered the cave and then got into a rubber raft where we were pulled along the underground stream , looking up at the ceiling it was covered with glow-worms. Very pretty & fascinating. After a coffee break we went into the second cave where we saw lots of stalagmites and stalactites and even the bones of an ancient extinct bird, the Moa. The guide was very knowledgeable and told us how the rock formations were formed. An excellent tour.Guest review byJudithAustralia
