- From £117.12 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 2,124 reviewsWanaka is an amazing place to stay. I get the impression that most travellers use Wanaka as a stop off to the Glaciers like we did. If i was planning my trip again I would spend at least a few nights in Archway motel, Wanaka. The hosts Jacqui and Mark can not do enough for you, they really are the best hosts you could wish for. Mark went out of his way to help my wife and I reschedule our trip to the Glaciers following the road closure at Hass. I can not think him enough for his reassuring assistance. Add to the above, the chalets are extremely high-end, comfort, quality, home from home. My wife and I would stay here again and for longer if we get back to NZ. - From £158.33 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 525 reviewsWe called on the way to say that we wouldn't be able to pick up the keys and the matter was arranged perfectly and we were told that we are definitely not the only customers for whom Google Maps has estimated the travel time completely incorrectly. So this is a big plus. Another excellent thing was the big swimming pool, jacuzzi and above all SAUNA! We are from Finland and it was great to get to the sauna after almost a four week break. At home, we take a sauna almost every day and this was truly a luxury.Guest review byCaritainenFinland
- From £153.56 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 513 reviewsThe hotel is amazing. Very welcoming staff, close to City centre. Ample parking. Even for rooms in 1st floor, the parking is right outside the door on the back. Super accessible property for everyone. The room was huge. Bed was super comfortable. I loved that place.Guest review byApoorv SNetherlands
- From £54.66 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very good - What previous guests thought, 799 reviewsBeautiful tent and interior. The campsite outside was also beautiful and our only sorrow is that it was raining too much to enjoy the campfire. The location is beautiful. Small trek to bathrooms and showers but there is a portaloo right nearby the tents.Guest review byAnnaIreland

Wanaka is a great little town.
Wanaka is a great little town. Primarily a stepping stone to the ski resorts. However we did not go the the resorts. We did do a day trip to Blue Pools and the nearby waterfalls (Thunder falls). the drive was scenic and the pools were well worth having a look at. Thunderfalls is certainly a photo spot as well. We circled back to wanaka and had a look at the Wanaka tree. Its a great picture just prior to sunset as the branches of the tree have and orangy color to them.Guest review byStevoAustralia - 10.0

We spent two weeks in NZ driving from Queenstown across to the east coast, made our way up to Christchurch then slowly across to Arthur's pass the down the west coast back to Queenstown to fly out, I wish we had another week just to spend at Lake HaweaGuest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Great location easy to get to Wanaka but not in the middle of the all the tourists and busyness you get for a long weekend in a holiday spot. Right on the banks of the Clutha River, easy areas to walk and enjoy. Picture perfect location.Guest review byNic PSNew Zealand - 10.0

We really enjoyed our brief visit in Wanaka with great places to eat for the whole family. The transport Museum was outstanding but allow at least half a day to spend there and also visit the nearby Puzzle Park for the kidsGuest review byGrahamAustralia - 10.0
Lake Hawea is much less crowded and busy than Wanaka.
Lake Hawea is much less crowded and busy than Wanaka. The water is clear and beautiful, the view up the lake is magnificent and there is a great pub and store. There are good bike riding and walking tracks. Who could want for more?Guest review byAnnaNew Zealand - 10.0

Wanaka is a beautiful place, the magnificent scenery , ease to get around and the variety of food options makes it a place to meet a variety of experiences. Cycling along the tracks looked like a exciting option for getting around. Puzzling World was a great family outing and is worth a visit. The illusion rooms are fun and the maze was a great fun challenge.Guest review byHaz - 8.0
Beautiful area to walk or bike in.
Beautiful area to walk or bike in. There are wildlife on the lake. You can sit/sun bathe on the beach albeit a stony beach. Or you can just stroll along the shore area. When the sun is shining it is glorious whatever you chose to do.Guest review byAnonymous
