- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.7Good - What previous guests thought, 180 reviewsSuch a great little find, a cute holiday park really close to the Tongariro Alpine Crossing hike. Greg the owner, did everything possible to make sure our stay was comfortable by providing so much information about the area, and particularly the hike and what to expect. He also drove the shuttle bus to the start of the hike which was great and once again explained to the group everything necessary. We felt he really made a huge difference to our visit as we felt someone was there looking after us.Guest review byJenniferAustralia
- From US$113.84 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,142 reviewsA friendly welcome. Our unit was beautifully prepared and had everything we needed. The teapot was a nice touch and a nice surprise, beds were comfortable and plenty of bedding if needed. The bathroom was impressive. The motel is so central to everything. Near the plaza and the square, eateries nearby (Burger King is across the road, and there is a long-established Thai restaurant and pub the other side of the road) and if you need public transport there's a bus stop close by.Guest review byPeterNew Caledonia

We were in PN because of treatment at the hospital for recently diagnosed cancer. On discharge from the hospital we choose to go to the cafe Thyme and Fig. We spotted a car park right outside the cafe. Perfect as my wife had a catheter in tow and was wearing her pyjama bottoms. When we had hydrated we decided to head home to Greytown. You guessed it- we got a parking fine. I'm afraid that soured our stay in PN. We were frassled and never thought about a parking infringement. There are no parking meters in Greytown so it certainly wasn't on our radar. I'm astounded that the fine is $70. That is steep for pensioners.Guest review bySueNew Zealand - 10.0
It was a great experience.
It was a great experience. Mountain was warmer up the to & colder at the bottom. It's wise to go up the gondola ride see the mountain close up front. There is snow field up the top for seating & restaurant. National park is just mesmerising very iconic. Worth visiting. I would go again next time for the crossing.Guest review byShamshad BegumNew Zealand - 10.0

Ohakune is a town still recovering from COVID and some not so good ski seasons, but it is beautiful and well worth the visit. Apart from skiing and snowboarding, the mountain is a beautiful place to hike, mountain bike, or just visit for the view. Ohakune is small and easy to get around, with great cafes and restaurants. The ski shops are fantastic with really helpful staff (TCB is amazing).Guest review byKateNew Zealand - 8.0

The management is chaotic. I lost my ski poles.
The management is chaotic. I lost my ski poles. It took me an hour to find them among three girls. I found that all their equipment was someone else's. I was shocked. There were too many novices. My friend's child was hit three times in one day. It was really dangerous.Guest review byAnonymous - 2.0

Unfortunately the unit we stayed in was infested with ants which were in the bathroom, kitchen and bedroom. We awoke to find them in our beds and crawling all over us. Most unpleasant experience. I advised the manager but he didn't really apologise and I believe he was aware of the situation. His response was that he would need to get a pest controller in. I felt he didn't believe us, but we showed the cleaners and they were shockewd.Guest review byDionNew Zealand - 8.0

My baby and I stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed everything about Waiouru. We were at the Oasis motel which is across the road from the Z gas station and next to a Diner, bakery, bar & bottle store which breaks off from the motel but still far away from the rooms. A bit secluded but love how everything’s so close and the nice cold weather.Guest review byShaniquaNew Zealand
