FijiMy family and I really loved the hotel and the Family Suite. They did not wish to leave as we feeling so much at home. The location of your hotel is also one of your greatest assets as it is so picturesque and set in a breathtaking location. Te Anau being the gateaway for Milford Sound, Doubtful Sound, and Otago is also the icing on the cake. We have a tremendous and fun filled time. Thank you so much. We are looking to return in 2 years time.

AustraliaIt was the most beautiful property everything in it was tastefully chosen and top of the line. Its location was great just a short walking distance away from the shops and restaurants. We just loved the heated bathroom floors as when we were there it was very cold and wet and the bed was very comfortable.

What a delightful little town! The glow worm caves were an absolute highlight, especially with the stunning waterfall inside—such a magical experience. The town is clean, walkable, and full of charming little shops and scenic walks. Plus, the grocery store was top-notch for anything you might need. We drove our hire car from Queenstown and stayed just the one night as we had a Tour booked the next day on the boat. We enjoyed the drive and the stunning scenery on our trip to Milford Sound; however, if you are short on time, you can FLY straight out and do the Boat cruise in half a day. If you drive down- it's an ALL-DAY event and that is why we opted to stay overnight and travel back to Queenstown the next day. There is only a CAFE in the town for quick food and coffee etc... There were limited places to pull up on the trip to have a meal. Lots of scenery and a long drive but enjoyable if you like car trips?Guest review byKARENAustralia - 8.0

We ended up staying at the Tasman holiday park, the bed was so much more comfortable and the manager there was so lovely. Te Anau was a great spot to see the glow worm caves, which was our highlight and we drove to do the Milford sound and it was a beautiful drive, which took about 2 hours both ways. Staying in the Sound is special - it is a very short drive (minutes) to the cruise departure points. It's about 2 hours drive otherwise from the closest town to the national park. You are immersed in the environment and you need to be flexible in regards to weather - we had several road closures (can't leave the park), rain and significant snow fall at the Homer tunnel area. Manapouri is a breathtakingly beautiful area with a quiet restful atmosphere. There is a lovely restaurant nearby and other food outlets. Lots to do in the area too. There are the day and overnight trips to Doubtful Sound, a stunningly beautiful area that will blow your mind. You do need to book ahead for these trips. I really enjoyed our stay in Te Anau. It's a beautiful town. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Great location to stay for a night or two if you are going to do the Milford track or do any of the attractions in the Milford Sound and surrounding area. I would definitely stay at the @Radford on the Lakeside. Lovely motel and very nice rooms. Have dinner at the Fat Duck (Lumina lamb dish was delicious). Breakfast and lunches at Sandfly. Can only recommend to drive to Milford in the morning spend the rest of the day in Milford and do some short walks. Next day do your boat trip etc and enjoy nature. Drive back the following day. Manapouri is a very small, lakefront town that has a beautiful view of Lake Manapouri and the mountains beyond. It also has a fantastic cafe/bar/restaurant called The Church, which I thoroughly recommend.
