The Apartment was super clean and so was the bathroom, topped off with underfloor heating. The heaters made it lovely and warm and we had a great sleep in. :-) Host was absolutely great with communication and was very accomodating. Thank you so much, we will definitely be back.Guest review byPetraGermany

There is a big clock on the hilltop.
There is a big clock on the hilltop. A big playground in the city centre. An information centre with a museum and a small gallery in the same building. We could walk along the river in the bush. Grocery shopping was easy as there are two major supermarkets, New World and Woolworths. Fast food was easy to find. Cafes offer good-tasting coffee. There is plenty of free parking in the town centre, from where we could walk almost anywhere around the town. Alexandra is a small town for a visit, where you want to unwind in a laid-back setting. It is also close to Cromwell and Roxburgh, where you can go for cherry picking in the summer.Guest review byZeyingNew Zealand - 8.0

Very beautiful area, lovely history, nice restaurants and cafes. Great if you like to cycle, which sadly we do not. Autumn is the perfect time to visit. Be warned if you want to eat at Oliver's or the Post Office book ahead of time, we did not and could not get a booking. One night is probably enough, maybe two, then head off to Cromwell and onwards to see more.Guest review byMurray - 8.0

We picked Ranfurly to stay as a central point to reach other areas we wanted to tour, and got that entirely right. Great service from the I-site, and the council office staff too, when we had some business to do. I'm amused that your questions say '' ýoung couples like you''. We're both 81!Guest review byRoderickNew Zealand - 10.0

The reason we keep coming back to Naseby is because it has so much for us to do. We enjoy walking and eating, the Royal Hotel especially and being in places that have a sense of history and are unspoiled. There is an all year curling rink, tennis courts, a swimming dam and kids can ride their bikes or go to the playground without worrying about busy roads etc. People are friendly and nothing feels hectic or rushed. My children (all grown now) came here in their school holidays, and now they are bringing their childrenGuest review byKim - 10.0

Middlemarch is a small town at one end of the Otago Rail Trail, within easy driving reach of Dunedin. The Kissing Gate Cafe provided a warm and welcoming place to have a good coffee and tasty treats on a fairly cold winter's day. We saw the rolling stock for what was formerly the Taieri Gorge Railway (later Dunedin Railways) parked up at Middlemarch Station, having effectively been mothballed, we were told, because of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on tourism. We hope the line, running as it does through some impressive scenery, will be opened for business once again at some point.Guest review byJLIBSTKUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Lovely quiet town, nice to walk down to "Hayes Engineering Works" and cafe about a 20min walk down the rail trail as well a further 5-10mins walk or quick drive heading towards Omakau too is the famous Bonspiel curling lake. The Gilhirst store has food shopping needs and the Tavern across the road has a great range of food (Meals or Takeaways)Guest review byMichaelNew Zealand - 8.0

Clyde is a lovely quaint little town full of history and character with beautiful scenery as well. For us it was the finishing point of an absolutely beautiful ride around the Clyde. We will definitely return to do another ride the Otago Rail trail - Clyde is the starting point of this ride. People were so friendly too.Guest review byTracyNew Zealand
