- From £134.95 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 6.9Pleasant - What previous guests thought, 510 reviewsEverything! We were staying up the road and were extremely unhappy and once I messaged Nexus we were checking in early to our beautiful ocean view room. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the staff were extremely accommodating. This resort has everything in one spot and we’re lucky enough to basically have it all to ourselves during low season. There’s place to relax on the beach or the pool, heaps of restaurants to choose from (some closed due to low season numbers) bars, huge chess board, darts, pool, a wellness spa, kids club, hammocks, literally everything you need. Do keep in mind in low season some things aren’t open but we had the best time and it would be even better during peak season!Guest review byAllisonAustralia
- From £724 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very good - What previous guests thought, 355 reviewsThe barbecue was organised smoothly without any flaws at the lodge, the coordinator Casandra was very helpful to arrange the grilled dinner to perfection, one chef and three coordinators were seen at the site to help to see everything delivered into perfection, we were so impressed and excited, although no occasion tied into it , we felt it was a big event fell on that day.Guest review byDr Pat LimSingapore

Important and interesting history related to the British...
Important and interesting history related to the British influence for town development; especially the story that unfolded and is memorialized about the war years and the sad fate of many Aust & Brit POW's and the of local Sabah supporters and underground. The history of extensive logging and use of timber was of professional interest to me as a forester. The brutal destruction of the timber buildings by the Japanese military was bad - and the gradual rebuild over following 10 -20 years is remarkable. Its notablel that the central city is declining due to lack of regular upgrade and maintenance, and influx of certain migrant groups and housing needs. Also notable that commercial business and new shops have expanded out into modernized precincts away from town centre. Proximity to Sepolik rainforest reserve and other wildlife conservation parks is great for travellers to eastern Sabah. Local malaysian people are friendly and easy to relat to in the main.Guest review byPeterAustralia - 6.0

The place is not for everybody, very poor people, small homeless children playing and begging around, however I enjoyed the local experience. There is nothing to do here so if you are going for diving you are ok or for an island hopping tour that was very nice snorkelling.Guest review bySkabaCzech Republic - 10.0
There are many places with a Mountain View, and there are...
There are many places with a Mountain View, and there are also places for taking selfies - but you need to pay RM5 per entry - around the main roundabout at the centre of town. Halal food aplenty, but you need to confirm by checking the Google review - not all those wearing headscarves are Muslim and common names like Lidya can be misleading too. Do check out the Pasar Tamu Kundasang or morning market at the Night Market area - got to know new types of fruits like buah cinta, halia hutan, avocado cheese and so much more. You can buy cinnamon sticks for souvenirs to take home - long as a walking stick or short ready to use ones! A must-visit to Desa Dairy Farm for the fresh milk, yogurt, gelato & calf feeding!Guest review byRadziahMalaysia - 10.0

Only a 20 minute ride from Sandakan Airport so it’s worthwhile checking out for the day. There is only about 1 whole days worth of activities in the area I.e. the Orangutan Center, the Sun Bear center and then the rainforest discovery Center. I probably wouldn’t recommend more than 1 day in this area unless you want to do some of the extensive forest and mangrove walls that are at the rainforest discovery Center - but they’re more for the dry season rather than the rainy season. I strongly do NOT recommend the probiscus sanctuary back in Sandakan as it’s more of a single species zoo only - it’s much better to get out to the nearby Kandabangan River AreaGuest review byLukeSilviaComboUnited Kingdom - 4.0

sabah pork noodle at hing lee & union cafe....the sabah pork noodle is good......union cafe egg tarts , chicken pie & Hainanese coffee & tea is good. sea food is not so expensives compared with kuala lumpur. deep sea fishes , lobsters.....paku vege...is good grab car available .....all nearby location for food.rm4 to rm6 fare. do not waste your time to visit the cocoa museum....charge rm50 per head and need to make appointment . [ waste of time ] see the famous jci clock tower with the fish, crab , prawn roundabout- FOCGuest review byMichaelMalaysia - 10.0
Beautiful and great place to experience.
Beautiful and great place to experience. Enjoy the whole trip. We plan to return fit & strong to trek Mount Kinabalu. Don't miss out. Great place for a family holiday. Don't have to travel to Europe to gain such a fascinating view, Only be mindful, a lot of uphill if u wanna walk around. Great place for retirement if u love trekking n love nature. Love the attitude of road users. No hornGuest review byJulaidah MohdSingapore - 8.0

A good area for spotting wildlife, but I would recommend staying in a smaller family-run accommodation as you get a better personal service and excellent local knowledge. Early morning and late afternoon and night boat trips offer great opportunities to see the wildlife. We enjoyed walking round the local village, but there are not many places to eat out. We had all our meals at the homestay.Guest review byLesleyUnited Kingdom - 10.0

An amazing location - wonderful views over the bay from our very nice room. We loved seeing the monkeys, hornbills, monitor lizards and geckos. The staff were helpful and friendly. We enjoyed spending time at the simple private beach a short boat ride away. Make sure you arrive at Jesselton Point at least an hour before your speedboat leaves as they check you in there and it can take ages. Evening dining is either a fish restaurant, a Japanese restaurant or a bewilderingly large buffet.Guest review byCalluna50United Kingdom - 8.0

Kota Kinabalu is the most cosmopolitan of the cities in Sarawak and Sabah. Shopping is good, plenty of eateries and the inner city is walkable . The traffic like in all Malaysian cities is horrific. I want to point out that taxies in Malaysia don't have meters any more and charge for transport whatever the want (always to much) compared to Grab/Uber.Guest review byGerardNew Zealand
