FAQs about hotels in Cameron Highlands
Tranquil Peaks and Tea Plantations
Malaysia’s highest area accessible by car, the Cameron Highlands is an oasis of calm with lush, undulating hills and stepped tea plantations that go on for miles. Roughly the same size as Singapore, it has a temperate climate, making it a popular retreat from the more oppressive heat at lower altitudes.
Mountain peaks form its backdrop and the highest peak – Mount Batu – has a mossy forest to be explored. At its feet is the 2nd largest town - Brinchang - which is home to a good selection of Cameron Highlands hotels. Brinchang also has as a weekend night market, several strawberry farms and the colourful Cactus Valley, while just north there is a butterfly farm.
A golf course is just south, and further along the road is Tanah Rata – the region’s largest town. Jungle trails lead from here into the surrounding forest and to the Parit and Robinson waterfalls. Just outside town is a traditional settlement of the Orang Asli, Malaysia’s aboriginal people. Guided tours are available for a wonderful insight into their lifestyle.
Whether you choose one of the Cameron Highland apartments, hotels or resorts on Booking.com, take a trip to the Boh Tea Estate, one of the plantations established by the first British settler who the region is named after.

Cameron Highlands was really nice — the weather was perfect, and it felt peaceful being away from the city noise. But weekends can be a nightmare: the market areas were packed, parking was a struggle, and traffic heading towards Brinchang was just terrible. Definitely a great escape, but try to go on a weekday if you want some peace.Guest review byKogiMalaysia - 8.0
Don't bother come during weekend/school holidays.
Don't bother come during weekend/school holidays. You will be the victim of standstill traffic. If weekend/school holidays is your only option, come way early in the morning, like, latest 7-7.30 am arrival at Cameron areas.Guest review bySufienaMalaysia - 4.0
Its a terrible jam place.
Its a terrible jam place. Most of the time spend was on the road stuck in the jam. Avoid weekends and public holidays. From Tanah Rata to Brinchang is around 3.5Km and we stuck for 4 hours. Beautiful place but proper planning in roadworks needed by the Government. You wont enjoy your holidays on weekends or public holidays.Guest review byHARISHANKARMalaysia - 10.0

The different areas of Ringlet are very interesting to visit however the traffic is a problem in the little towns. Not easy to cross the roads on a busy day. Plenty of eateries to choose from and different types of food. A fair number of atttactions including tea plantations and museums. The roads are extremely winding.Guest review bySteve UKUnited Kingdom - 8.0
If possible try not to come during the local school holidays...
If possible try not to come during the local school holidays or Festive holidays or during weekends. The traffics jams were bad. We got stuck in the jam for 2 hours trying to go to one of the popular places. It was on Sunday. Before going to any of those places make sure you read their reviews and opening hours. For strawberry picking some places charge entry fees and some did not but charge only the amount of strawberry picked which is way more expensive that those sold at the market or stalls along the road. Try not to miss the night market if possible (which only happen on weekends 😢).Guest review byMohamad YazidSingapore - 6.0

It is a good place for relaxation (if you find somewhere quiet to stay), and a wide variety of places for eating. But it has become overdeveloped, with too many large hotels and other buildings sprawled along the valley. The main road is noisy with much traffic. Within Tanah Rata there is little concept that you are in mountainous countryside. My attempt at walking had to be abandoned when I encountered collapsed river crossings.Guest review byMartinUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Used to be the end of the road, quiet and peaceful.
Used to be the end of the road, quiet and peaceful. Now it's a through traffic town and some parts can get quite noisy and busy with traffic .Too many inappropriate buildings , typical for the rapacious Malaysian developers! Little care for the environment. Still nice to enjoy the rarefied high-altitude air and noticeably cooler ,sometimes cold! climate and the plentitude of food offerings.Guest review byDarrylAustralia - 10.0

Definitely our favourite holiday location in the whole of Malaysia! The cool weather is just what we need when back home is scorching hot. Tourist attractions are aplenty and fresh produce is always fresh and cheap. Food choices are albeit slightly limited, but we still enjoyed Highlands Steamboat and Ferm Nyonya for dinner.Guest review byNur SyahirahMalaysia - 8.0

Took a bus from KL and reached here at approx 1pm. The final 1 hour journey was windy road (almost vomited). Cool town where majority of restaurants are Indian. There is no ground tour package that starts in the afternoon. All the tours start at 8am. If you want to have your breakfast at 7am, there is only Starbucks or convenient stores like FamilyMart.Guest review byAwanMalaysia - 10.0

Large porch can fit 4 cars or more, with space in the backyard for outdoor dining and even some outdoor activities. Very near to night market and central location makes it easy to go anywhere in Cameron Highlands. Very clean, very comfortable, with multiple extra mattresses available if you need to use them to accommodate your party membersGuest review byAnonymousMalaysia
