Very nice family
Great breakfast
We hardly recommend it
This became our favourite hotel out of all the hotels we stayed during this journey. It was a great time for us during the two nights we stayed in this hotel. It's an echo friendly, sustainable, nature loving hotel with immense of activities to enjoy whilst your stay.
Fabulous staff starting from the cleaning staff in the garden, security (third party), bell desk, waiters, cooks, chefs, room service, housekeeping, laundry staff, and management everyone amazing. Very helpful, more generous, and always willing to do their job beyond the expected level. Really appreciated. Some of them were exceptional; Asitha, Lilanga, Melani, Chamara, Ranjith, Dananjya, Nalini, Senaratne, Sugath, Sumith, Thakshila and room services boy.
Accommodation: We stayed at "Tamarind" a superior suite. Only two of these for the hotel. It was kind of a small home for us. Had lots of space. King Bed was superb. Interior decoration was excellent. Charm colours and antique type furniture combination makes a vibrant look for this gorgeous suite. Outside couch was ideal for relaxing tea over the lake view.
Bathroom is massive and it has a great view of the lake. 2 shower cubicles, Jacuzzi, 01 toilet, 02 vanities, and this comes with full set of amenities.
Restaurant: Fabulous food with real authentic taste. A very good selection. every time we go there we spent lots of time talking to people and most of the time meal hours are over and we were still having meal.
Short walk To Cinnamon Village: Can play on the swing, tree house, and jump on a kayak for a lake tour (at a cost LKR2000 per person).
Pool - It's right next to the restaurant.
Organic farm and butterfly garden: plan a small walk to the organic farm and see the butterflies on the way
Staff was very helpful, friendly and informative. Initially we had an issue with our booking dates, and we spoken with Mr Sangeeth, who went an extra mile to sort out the issue, promptly and efficiently.Mr.Anura who has wealth of knowledge about the area, guided us throughout.also the receptionists were very helpful and Mr Manoj service was top of the class.Buffet was good, fairly a good array of selection to choose from.overall a great experience, amazing staff and spacious rooms.thank you all.keep up your good work ethics!
Heritage hotel is amongst the greatest in Anuradhapura, and the the hotel staff team were very friendly, helpful and so welcoming.
Location, Access, Services and hospitality were at its best.My kids too were enjoyed the stay.Lots of greenery amazing view as well.
Moreover Very easily you can go to all ancient places to visit , they ate just around.Highly recommend this amazing place.
Location is incredible. Staff is so friendly. Got the honeymoon suite for half the price of the website, therefore great value for money. The tent was a dream and we are so happy that we spent one night there.
One thing that could have even further improved our stay: a bootle of bubbles in the minibar fridge - we would have bought it :)
EVERYTHING about this place is just magical and makes you feel smoothly blended with nature giving you the most unforgettable experience any time of the day and in any spot you choose in this huge estate. Room, staff, food, sunsets, sunrises, monkeys, squirrels, birds... so wonderful. Well done Mr. Jeffery (the brilliant architect)
Everything was really good - personal, rooms, territory, breakfast.
The only thing - if you a light sleeper, sounds of wild life at night might disturb you :)
Frogs made one the nights for us sleepless
The service is truly 5 start. The facility, food , attention to detail definitely speaks of the class. It’s the people who work at the hotel that makes it extra special.
The surroundings are stunning - lakes, trees, flowers and so much wildlife. Just wonderful. A really admirable eco-conscious project. The staff are also fabulous

We reached Kandy after completing tour of pinnawala and ambulawa towers. We also visited Mahabodhi Vihara , from where Kandy lake had a good view.
The shopping market at Kandy closed by 7pm, may we missed that.

If anyone should travel to Sigiriya they should start to climb the rock at 5.30am as the ticket counters open. Wearing proper hiking or workout clothes would be the best.

We chose not to climb Sigiriya (having just recovered from Adam's Peak!) but instead chose the much shorter Pidurangala which afforded a fabulous view of Sigiriya. Highly recommended. A visit to the Bawa hotel, Heritance Kandalama, is well worth it as an insight into the brilliant architectural mind of Geoffrey Bawa.

The ancient city of Polonnaruwa has a lot to offer to the tourists who want to know about the history of Sri Lanka. It has so many ruins and monuments to view, and especially marvel at the stone crafting abilities of ancient Sri Lankans who have created so many buddhist states and artistic monuments by using rocks. Definitely a trip to add to your bucket list.

A beautiful place on earth that there are lots of 360 degree view points. But if it rains it will ruin your plans. So make sure you depend on weatherly and visit Matale when it shows many continuous sunny days. Even on cloudy forecasts do not visit as all mointain tops then will be covered and you will not see the sights. when it is humid leaches also will be active and will become a painful experience.

Kandy is a city that wraps you in a gentle embrace from the moment you arrive. Its people are warm, genuine, and respectful, always ready to greet you with a smile and extend a helping hand. The air is fresh and cool, carrying the scent of hills and flowers, while the weather shifts softly between sunshine and mist. The cuisine is a delightful blend of tradition and flavor, from fragrant curries to freshly brewed tea, each bite telling a story of its rich culture. Here, honesty feels natural, safety is never in question, and respect for one another is a way of life. Kandy is not just a place you visit—it’s a feeling you carry home.

Sigiriya is stunning and has a lovely village charm to it, compared to the tourist/backpacker mecca that is Ella. There are plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from but it somehow doesn't detract and Sigiriya still feels very local and true to SL values.

Anuradhapura, one of the world's oldest continuously...
Anuradhapura, one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities, is a treasure trove of ancient history that stretches back to the 4th century BCE. Established by King Pandukabhaya, it served as the majestic capital of Sri Lanka for over a millennium, playing a pivotal role in the island's Buddhist heritage and cultural evolution.
The arrival of Buddhism in Sri Lanka, introduced by Mahinda Thera in the 3rd century BCE, marked a transformative era for Anuradhapura. This led to the creation of awe-inspiring stupas, monastic complexes, and elaborate water reservoirs that showcase the ingenuity of the time. Central to this transformation is the revered Sri Maha Bodhi tree, a sapling believed to have been taken from the very tree under which the Buddha attained enlightenment, which continues to be a powerful pilgrimage site.
Anuradhapura flourished as a vibrant hub of trade, culture, and religion. Its stunning architecture, exemplified by monumental structures like the Ruwanwelisaya and the Jetavanaramaya, reflects the extraordinary vision and craftsmanship of its builders—each stone telling a story of devotion, power, and artistry.
Despite facing invasions and natural calamities that eventually led to its decline in the 10th century CE, Anuradhapura's legacy endured. The capital shifted to Polonnaruwa, but Anuradhapura remained a beacon of historical significance, earning its status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Today, it captivates scholars and travelers alike, offering a glimpse into Sri Lanka's rich cultural lineage and inviting exploration of its ancient ruins, sacred sites, and the profound stories embedded within them. Anuradhapura is not just a city; it’s a living testament to the resilience and depth of a civilization that continues to inspire.
