The waiter Dena was very courteous, understanding, helpful and very knowledgeable. He went through the menu with me every day and always gave me very good advice so that the chef could cook it. No headaches the next day, he was a pleasure to work with. Many thanks to Sofia from the breakfast service, she always had a smile on her face and sweetened our day so we could start the day well. There is a wide balcony with a soft ottoman and a table - you can relax in the shade of climbing plants after lunch. The room was always clean, there is a mosquito net, a sofa, a refrigerator, a lot of drawers for personal belongings and 2 closets. It offers 3 swimming pools and 2 restaurants with delicious food. I had a full board, a restaurant on the veranda of the 2nd floor is something! You can eat while enjoying the beautiful view! Fresh pasta, fish and meat, vegetables and fruits. The staff is very friendly, everyone smiles and says hello!) Goes to meet, fulfilling requests. The hotel also has 5 animators who entertain guests every day - water polo in the pool, water aerobics, simple contests like hit a coin in a glass or knock down pins with a ball. No songs and dances, for those who are very shy). I was resting alone and people often came up to me just to entertain me with a conversation, they always asked if everything was fine with me. Every other day, various shows were held in the evening: the Masai and Giriamo tribes sang and danced. Acrobats performed. If you like to walk...it needs only 10 minutes to go in town. It is not a place for a holiday, I was there to check on some of my Property but I was frustrated because I ended up staying for more Days than I had wanted. Watamu is one of my favorite places to visit in North Coast.
Watamu is one of my favorite places to visit in North Coast. It is not overpowering like other towns in North Coast. The people are very friendly and hospitable. I particularly enjoyed the sunset views at Litchaus and Crab Shack. The cultural tour to Waka Waka Island and seeing dolphins. However, it can be pricier than other places. I recommend going with an open mind and a spirit of fun. To get the most from Watamu, do not rush. I recommend spacing out your travel and allowing yourself to soak it all in. If you can cook in Malindi, please cook. Chefs are also too expensive but if you are up for it, great. The customer service in Malindi is questionable, some restaurants even packing sub food as your take away. Also, the locals especially tour guides try to rip you off compared to other coastal towns, its quite annoying. Kilifi is a perfect town for me. It has a peaceful energy that makes it a preference for the more hectic atmospheres in Watamu or Malindi in the North or the Mombasa resorts to the South. You can explore the Indian Ocean from the Dhows and experience the inland waterways and the impressive mangrove forests via the Kilifi Creek. The people are quite friendly including cab divers. The beaches are wonderful. Not too much interference from the beach boys. The area is relatively quiet in the evenings. Good for a person who has relaxation in mind. My favourite beach was Gecko resort. It is easy to get around Watamu with Tuk Tuk or cabs.Guest review bykaguru
