Rapallo was charming.
Rapallo was charming. Beautiful historical center with a nice choice of restaurants. We found it easy to get to Cinque Terra by train. We also traveled to Porta Fino by bus and returned by ferry - both were very scenic trips.Guest review bySandraUnited States - 10.0
Perfect place to stay if you want to visit Portofino.
Perfect place to stay if you want to visit Portofino. Relaxed and laidback. Promenade with lots of restaurants. Great beach. Ferry or bus to other villages. Feels Italian, not as pricey and touristy as Portofino.Guest review byNiclasSweden - 10.0

This town is a great place to get away from the crowds and tourists and have an authentic Italian beach holiday. There were still migrants walking up and down the beaches bugging you to buy their crap, but that's pretty much every beach in Italy nowadays.Guest review byBradleyUnited States - 6.0
Weird place.
Weird place. One side is terribly middle class, in the worst way. Another side, near the bocciofila, is old school lovely. The center is pretty dead - a few restaurants, but that's all. The sea is lively with waves and currents.Guest review byValentinaItaly - 10.0
There are so many places to eat!
There are so many places to eat! The food is excellent pretty much everywhere. The focaccia si to die for and so is the farinata! When visiting Lavagna you can forget about the car and if you wish to visit 5 terre the train is very convenient! Smoking should be banned in all beaches, though!Guest review byFrancescaGermany - 10.0

Portofino is just beautiful, we took so many photos during our stay and if you ever visit you will know why! Apart from a couple of attractions, Castello Brown and the lighthouse there not much to do, but for a romantic weekend and gorgeous food and wine it is absolutely perfect!Guest review byPaulUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Small village, but perfect starting point to explore the region. It has great restaurants, and nice beaches. The parking is a bit difficult. Close to Lavagna where you can find more restaurants, shops, etc.Guest review byÁronHungary - 10.0
Rapallo is a lovely town, with great facilities.
Rapallo is a lovely town, with great facilities. We used it as a hub to travel by public transport to the places we wanted to visit. We went by ferry to Portofino (or bus, if the weather stops the ferries running) and by train to Genoa, Pisa and Cinque Terre.Guest review bymarie0812Australia - 10.0
Lovely little coastal town.
Lovely little coastal town. We had two nights here which was just the right amount. The highlight was the beautiful coastal walk to Portofino and we then took the ferry back to see the coastline from the sea. The town has some lovely restaurants and cafes and some beautiful but pricey boutiques.Guest review byJoanneAustralia - 8.0
It's a nice place with sandy beaches.
It's a nice place with sandy beaches. If you want to do more snorkelling, I'd probably recommend other places with rocky beaches. You can book boat trips to Portofino/San Fruttoso and the Cinque Terre. We booked the Portofino/San Fruttoso one and it was very nice, snorkelled a bit in San Fruttoso and took a stroll through Portofino. We didn't have time to visit the Cinque Terre, but they are worth seeing and even staying there (I visited Riomaggiore and Monterosso back in 2018, they are nicer than Sestri Levante). Overall, for some quiet, nice time on the beach, you can go to Sestri Levante, the beaches are big enough. We walked from our accommodation to the beach and not much else, didn't take any buses. Found really good gelato at Ice Cream's Angels.Guest review byAlegzRomania
