Very friendly staff. Breakfast was amazing and served on an outdoor patio. Room was spacious, clean and nice terrace. Easy location to walk to the town and to beaches.

The Excelsior is located in the city centre of La Maddalena Island, a 2-minute walk from the ferries to/from Palau. There is free public parking in front of the hotel.

The place has couple of great points, but what was particularly important for us was: - great location, very close to the center of La Maddalena (but far enough not to be in the heat of it) - fairness of the offer: modest but well maintained with all necessary facilities and very clean rooms (daily room service, hair dryer in the bathroom, little fridge, AC) - super friendly and helpful staff that made us feel welcome (big thank you!) - nice breakfast, tasty coffee, local products - really nice restaurant just around the corner - unique atmosphere that made the place special - free and big parking - overall, great value for money

Above all, the hotel staff was exceptional! Owner Angelo and everyone on his team made every effort to make our stay comfortable. Everything was fine. In colder weather I would like to have a kettle and a cup for making tea but in sunny weather I was happy with a lemon from the tree in the garden.
