Very good experience at this Hotel. Helpful and polite staff. Specially Mr. Praderp Singh at the reception. Smooth check in , no issues during hotel stay. Breakfast had all the food varieties 24 hour restaurant facility. Has shopping centre in the same compound. Has 2 lifts in the hotel, so no issue during peak hours. The bright lights, the sounds smells of Siliguri left behind when we entered the oldest tea estate - Chumpta. We felt transported. The quiet, warm glow of Mayfair was just what we needed. Polished marble floors, the fragrance of dhoop in the lobby. We were soaking it all in whilst Pradeep handled a bigger family. The antique clocks, quirky weighing machine/ balance.Checkered floors, statues adorning the corridor, beautifully upholstered furniture, a wall to wall fabric coated elevator.PS: May be they forgot to do the welcome experience.Our Stay: We had booked for the attic rooms. The room had twin beds(probably they may have run out of double beds) and the most interesting part was the bathroom had a fan. A lot of thought had been put into designing this room with the right amenities including a chair to sit whilst the rain shower did it’s job. Housekeeping had done a thorough clean to ensure that we had a great stay. Housekeeping as always very discreet service, however we knew they were there constantly cleaning finger or foot prints.Tea Pot: Most enthusiastic team of Sahil, Suraj, Laxman and our server for the evening Sathya ( the gentleman from Orissa) were fabulous. The food was another level tasty and almost like home. The chefs are extremely skilled and talented to be so thoughtful despite of being used to quantity cooking.A box office: I found this extremely delightful. Thought we did not use this. A small 14-20 seater theatre armed with lazy boys and a small screen to keep the couch potatoes entertained. Hridaya the security on rounds insisted I watch the other half of the movie, I was tempted however it would have kept me away from the new happening bar that they had just opened by the pool side.Dont miss the Vintage Car in the Bar. Chef was right. There was miles of food till the eye could see. Each tastier than the other. Mani our driver who dropped us to the airport knew all the in roads which got us to the airport in less than half an hour.

    I booked for 2 nights but ended up staying 6 nights. The rooms are exquisite, the staff are helpful and friendly and the breakfasts are excellent. Calcutta Bungalow has to be one of the nicest places I have ever stayed in anywhere in the world. The building has so much character and charm and there are antiques and curios everywhere you look. There are also some great books about Kolkata. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. It is in a very quiet street in an interesting part of Kolkata. I would definately stay there again and would highly recommend it to anyone

    The hotel is very well situated, only 20min walk to the airport/5min by taxi. Its likely the best hotel close to the airport, good price for value for foreigners especially. The room/bathroom were very clean. Not much to do around but its perfect for overnight stay between flights. The restaurant had also a large menu and we could find vegan options (in menu and on request) for dinner and breakfast. We also had a special menu and a beautiful free cake for Valentine's Day. Thank you!

    Kolkata, a city that promises rich history and culture, sadly falls short in the most basic aspects of civic life. The streets are perpetually littered with trash, and the stench of garbage hangs heavy in the air. Extreme traffic which seem unnecessary. The humidity is suffocating, making every step feel like a chore. What's equally disappointing is the behaviour of the locals. Rudeness seems to be a default trait, with people often displaying a blatant disregard for courtesy. From vendors to pedestrians, there's a palpable lack of civility that's jarring. While Kolkata has its cultural gems, the overall experience is marred by its filth and the unpleasant demeanor of its people. Unless the city addresses these fundamental issues, it will struggle to attract visitors who crave a more pleasant and respectful environment. *Not recommended* for those who value cleanliness and basic human decency.

    I stayed one night at Burdwan Royal Heritage Palace in Darjeeling and it was magical. The room was huge, beautifully furnished, and full of old-world charm. The lush garden was perfect for a peaceful stroll, and the view of the mountains was absolutely spectacular. A true royal heritage —peaceful, grand, and unforgettable. Highly recommended for a royal retreat!

    Quadraple rooms(room 306 booked online) where we were alloted was quite small - actually double-room. In Europe/USA they are single occupancy rooms. Room 301 was a proper quadraple room, facing sea - but rooms like these were not alloted to us. Staff, including restaurant very friendly, attentive. Food was excellent.

    Access roads are poorly maintained, or not maintained at all. Despite so many hotels and presumably tourists visiting. Additionally the whole place stinks of fish being dried..... at places terribly. Even one can smell when the breeze is blowing at the beach. Nowhere a beach resort stinks so much. There are better options available.

    Kolkata is very fantastic place and we see the glimps of our historical culture. It reminds us our past and culture is still here that we have lost in other cities. It's best city to make visit for our kids. In Delhi and other cities we couldn't find our rituals and customs but here I have seen those things ,we have somewhere forgotten but here everything came back to us .I like most Kolkata city if I get chance to visit my kids again I'll come. Meusium, Victoria palace,new market for shopping,South City mall,everywhere we can eat because good food is available in very cheap onething is that in Kolkata no one can sleep hungry. I'm very happy to write such comments for Kolkata.

    Staying at Blue bell has been the best stay for us in kalimpong. Hotel was fantastic, well equipped with required amenities, hospitality was marvelous. Specially the owner Mr. Soumya was awesome. I would Personally suggest all if you prefer calm, quite atmosphere and prefer to enjoy me time, this is the best place to stay. My family loved it. Food is extremely reasonable, on time service and very good taste.. scenic beauty is all around because of the balcony the rooms have.. entire kalimpong city view and if weather permits you get the view of kanchanjunga here... please do visit Blue bell.

    The property is ideal for a weekend getaway. Especially if you value solitude - a couple of days spent in bird watching, deer watching, reading and listening to music. Located on the edge of the Ballabhpur Deer Park and right next to Sonajhuri and the Vishwa Bharati campus.
