Westport is a beautiful little town.
Westport is a beautiful little town. It is vibrant and welcoming. Great care is taken of Westport with clean streets and beautiful flowers. Shopping is really good. The town is very easy to get around.Guest review bySandraIreland - 6.0
Plenty of shops, bars and restaurants.
Plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. The National Museum of Ireland is just a few minutes drive away. Castlebar is ideally located for exploring County Mayo. The local library is excellent too with very friendly helpful staff who were only too willing to help with a little family history enquiry. We only stayed for one night and had our main meal in Lana, an Asian restaurant. The food was lovely and plentiful. So much so, we didn't bother with breakfast the following day.Guest review byGeorgeUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Ballina has a lot to offer.
Ballina has a lot to offer. Very friendly people with lots to do in the town and a great gateway to other delights in county Mayo. Some really great pubs and restaurants and a great Arts Centre. The Jackie Clarke Collection was must see venue to visit if you are interested in Irish history. Only downside was the nocturnal boy racers that kept us awake on one of the nights.Guest review byROBERTUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Cong is a beautiful historic village with its own dramatic...
Cong is a beautiful historic village with its own dramatic ruined Abbey and the extraordinarily beautiful woods adjacent to Ashford Castle. There are many lovely walking trails amidst the huge trees - that include some redwoods. Sadly, many trees were downed during the devastating Storm Eowyn in January 2025, so a number of trails, including access to Lough Corrib beach, have been blocked. Also, be aware that this is a popular tourist area and buses can disgorge large groups at any time during the day. All the more reason to stay overnight!Guest review byRobertUnited States - 10.0

Claremorris is a lovely town, plenty of shops, bars and restaurants to visit. It's an excellent base for visiting Galway City and also Co Galway, Co Mayo and Knock Shrine (a must). Only half an hour drive from Ireland West Airport. Loved staying at the McWilliam Park Hotel.Guest review byPatriciaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The parkrun on the greenway was lovely.
The parkrun on the greenway was lovely. We did a boat trip with seascape safaris - around the nearby islands and saw birds, seals, dolphins etc. Lots of lovely beaches, some historical monuments and several information boards at various locations around the island supplying local history. Surprising good food. We lunched , then the next day caked at , I think it was called An Dun - gorgeous food and amazing views of Sliabh Mór. We had dinner 3 nights, each hotel and Teds. All very good though my personal favourite was Teds. I would happily go back for another visit - beautiful location for walking, running, swimming or generally relaxingGuest review byLauraIreland - 6.0
Mulranny is a beautiful town and everyone was very friendly.
Mulranny is a beautiful town and everyone was very friendly. Its a place I have frequented many times since my childhood but this was the first time I stayed in the hotel. I was disappointed with the hotel and I felt it was cavernous in the pulic areas and tired in the bedrooms. I will not be returning to that hotel unless there is an improvement in the decor.Guest review byBridgiegUnited Kingdom - 10.0
