New ZealandIf I could describe Eagle View in one word, then it would be "Wow". We stayed here for two nights during a six week trip and found Eagle View to be our favourite place to stay during that time.
The view out over the bay is absolutely spectacular. The house itself is high-spec, with a large living and dining area, huge and very well appointed kitchen, and large bathroom. The furniture and fittings are excellent. The house is very clean and the location is quiet. It's an easy 15-20 minutes walk from Nuuk's city centre. We really enjoyed our stay at Eagle View and would most definitely return.

SwitzerlandGetting to Nuuk can be a real difficulty given the weather--we were delayed by several days coming from Iceland due to multiple canceled flights. But the hotel staff were very understanding, and we were not penalized at all. We found the staff to be kind and caring, and the rooms were tastefully decorated. This is a winner.

The location is perfect in Ilulissat. The starting points of individual tours are easily accessible (also on foot), supermarkets are nearby. Various hiking trails start directly behind the hotel at the small power station, from where you have a perfect view of Disko Bay. From the balcony of the hotel we could see auroras and icebergs. It is likely that during Disco bay icefjiord experience...
It is likely that during Disco bay icefjiord experience you'll see the wales, so a separate trip to watch wales may not be needed. The icefiord remains the most impressive thing to see from a walking distance and also from a boat. Eqi glacier is nice, but less impressive and takes a long time to go there. Icefiord center is an interesting site to visit, as you'll pass the sledge dog keeping site along the way. Do not touch or try to intervene with digs, as this my end lethaly for... them. I found the place terrible for dogs... and any animals in general, as they are kept on chain. First, you need to do some research about Nuuk so you know what to expect. Overall, we enjoyed our trip quite a lot. It’s long travel from California to NEw York than to Nuuk. Once landed, we took taxi to hotel, had simple dinner near by. Then explored Nuuk downtown and had good lunch and dinner. There are plenty of companies to book boat tours, whale watching etc, but we felt inclined to go with the local tour operators, who deserve the business, and really do know so much about the area and how to respect the wildlife. Getting around was easy, as it's a small town, taxis aplenty too. We didn't eat out as we were self-catering. Two good supermarkets in the high street. The people of Nuuk are very friendly and welcoming. It is important to note that when you visit Nuuk, having an open mind and open heart is important - locals appreciate efforts to learn and use the local Kalaallisut language. Even a simple "Qujanaq" goes a long way! Nuuk itself is often seen as a gateway to going on excursions to see ice fjords, glaciers, and the surrounding natural beauty of Greenland, but the city itself is also rich in history and culture and spending at least a day or two inside the city to learn about the Greenlandic people and their culture is a must. For those who are physically active, getting around the city by walking is the best way to explore; however, the city also has an excellent bus system and taxis that are readily available for getting around with ease. Worth noting is that in addition to the typical tourist attractions, such as the National Museum, boat tours into the fjord, and dining experiences, the city of Nuuk also has an Art Museum and a workshop called Kittat where Inuit women work on traditional embroidery that is used by local community. Visiting Nuuk is not easy or cheap, but coming here and getting to know this part of Greenland and the people who live here is well worth the journey!Guest review byDanielUnited States - 10.0

Ilullisat is absolutely worthy in a trip to Greenland. We have never seen such huge icebers. There are good options to trail in the area (Yellow Trail is the easiest one although is not such easy as it may seen). You move everywhere walking although taxi is not an expensive option. Nuuk grew on me over the 4 days that I spent there.
Nuuk grew on me over the 4 days that I spent there. I either walked around the city or took public buses. I thoroughly enjoyed the board walk, wandering around old Nuuk, the walk to and around Circus lake, the environs of the University of Greenland, and always beginning and ending the day around the Centre of Nuuk. It was a pleasure getting to know the city through its inhabitants, all of whom, were always forthcoming with advice and suggestions.Guest review byMukulIndia
