We chose the hotel as it was on the outside of Edinburgh,...
We chose the hotel as it was on the outside of Edinburgh, close to where we were going the next day. It had free parking and breakfast included. But we felt like we had been given the worst room in the hotel, overlooking the boiler room, which droned all night. The evening meal was very basic and I only saw one other people use the dinning, after our meal we went for a walk around, which gave us the choice between a run down council estate or an industrial area. The room itself was clean, the water pressure was good and the hotel served its purpose, but there are a lot nicer for the price.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Quiet town, only 2 restaurants available for dinner.
Quiet town, only 2 restaurants available for dinner. Not much to do except for the Linlithgow Palace, which was a must-see location. This town is perfect for a short visit, or if you want to take a book and sit by the loch for an afternoon of relaxation. The hotel was less than a half mile walk from the train station, so the location was very convenient for a short visit from Edinburgh, where we spent most of our vacation. The palace is technically a ruin, but you can climb inside the towers and see all the rooms, guided by a free audio app on your cellphone. This town has manicured garden beds and lots of flowers - very historic and charming.Guest review byGustavUnited States - 2.0

I would rather not say anything else as this place could be amazing with if it was cleaned property and the staff had a better attitude. I looks lovely and would be if it was cleaned property maintained and better instruction and better attitudes. I work within the NHS and deals with people attitude all day long but don’t expect it when going away to relax for a few days.Guest review byAnonymous - 2.0
There is nothing to see in Whitburn. It is rundown.
There is nothing to see in Whitburn. It is rundown. Lots of fish and chip shops! There are no decent restaurants close by. The Best Western Hillcroft is supposed to have a good restaurant I found the food awful there. The bar is nice and the staff are friendly. There is nothing to do in Whitburn.Guest review byElizabethUnited States - 8.0

Very convenient for Edinburgh Airport- bus stop 80 metres away- £4.50 vs £32 for a taxi. Comfortable room, but would have preferred a toilet in the room, rather than across the corridor.Very good value for money.Restaurant and bar on the premises, but no breakfast except weekends.Guest review bySTUARTFrance - 4.0
The apartment is very clean, well decorated, and interesting...
The apartment is very clean, well decorated, and interesting, with a reading nook in the second bedroom and a "hidden" foosball room. The bed in the second bedroom was a futon, so not very comfortable. Poor quality of towels. The host sent the wrong code for the lockbox at first and did not respond to my question about parking. The neighborhood isn't very good and the hallway and stairways up to the apartment were dark and uneven. We ordered excellent pizza from the curry place across the street. The apartment was fine for the purpose of getting to the airport in the morning, but I wouldn't return.Guest review byGayleUnited States - 10.0

The cottage has the most beautiful gardens and the village is perfect with shop, pub, take away and a park perfect for the dog. Train to Edinburgh 300 yards down the road. Beach and Livingston short drive away. It has it all!Guest review byMaureen - 10.0

Absolutely lovely modern property with everything provided for a break away. Very comfortable accommodation spotlessly clean with a large garden and BBQ hut for your use and a trampoline for the kids. Great location between Edinburgh and Glasgow for getting out and about.Guest review byDavid - 8.0

The location was very convenient, with a market nearby that offered everything one might need during a short stay. While the approach lane wasn’t particularly impressive, the apartment itself exceeded our expectations — beautifully maintained and very comfortable inside.Guest review byREHAN HABIBUnited Arab Emirates - 10.0
An old, historic town which has managed to update itself...
An old, historic town which has managed to update itself without losing the charm of it's really quite special old stone buildings, with a number of attractive side streets leading to the loch edge. Plenty coffee shops, gift shops etc, and of course the Palace where Mary Queen of Scots was born. Ready access to the canal, railway and motorway to Stirling and Edinburgh, apart from the many other towns in the area. Too many potential attractions to list here.Guest review byRobert
