- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 1,627 reviewsGreat location, very close to Princes Street and to numerous buses (including a bus from/to the airport and hop on-hop off busses), restaurants, shops. You could also walk almost everywhere. The room was very spacious and clean and the bathroom as well! The shower was really spacious and hot water would come out almost immediately and loved it! The bed and pillows very comfortable! There was a complementary bottle of water and shortbreads each day. There was a coffee machine in the room and nespresso capsules, so you could make your own coffee at any time (tea was also available). The staff was polite.Guest review byArgyroGreece
- From £700 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 1,185 reviewsMy son Max and I had a magical stay at The Balmoral. The staff were just wonderful. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay extra special for Max (age 9). Our trip to Edinburgh was a special treat because he's a huge Harry Potter fan. He absolutely loved Edinburgh and all it's Potter lore but the stay in the Balmoral was by far the highlight of his trip because of how kind everyone was to us (as well as it being a beautiful luxurious hotel of course).Guest review byAnnieIreland

What a magical city.
What a magical city. Calton Hill, Edinburgh Castle, the Palace of Holyroodhouse and the Old City are must see for first timers. We loved the ghost tour in the evening, it was excellent. We stayed near the Portobello beach, enjoyed it tremendously, especially breakfasts in a local café with an ocean view. Can't wait to go back!Guest review byNataUnited Kingdom - 8.0

A very comfortable stay in a spacious room with a comfortable bed. Access to the airport is so easy using the shuttle bus. We made use of the lovely pool and sauna which was a bid plus. We would definitely stay here again.Guest review byBarbaraUnited Kingdom - 6.0

We chose the hotel as it was on the outside of Edinburgh, close to where we were going the next day. It had free parking and breakfast included. But we felt like we had been given the worst room in the hotel, overlooking the boiler room, which droned all night. The evening meal was very basic and I only saw one other people use the dinning, after our meal we went for a walk around, which gave us the choice between a run down council estate or an industrial area. The room itself was clean, the water pressure was good and the hotel served its purpose, but there are a lot nicer for the price.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 2.0
While I found the room itself comfortable and well-presented...
While I found the room itself comfortable and well-presented, unfortunately, the overall experience was significantly impacted by a series of distressing events. During the night, there were repeated electricity outages which triggered alarms multiple times. This culminated in the arrival of firefighters at my room—an unexpected and unsettling experience. To add to the concern, there was no staff present at the reception during this time, which left me feeling quite unsafe and unsupported. To date, I have not received any form of apology, explanation, or gesture of goodwill from your team. I believe a situation like this warrants not only a sincere apology but also a degree of accountability and customer care, especially considering the level of disruption and concern caused.Guest review byStephanieUnited Kingdom - 6.0

Queensferry is a lovely town, but suffers as all have from shops being turned in to hairdressers and charity shops. Could do with a little bit of care and attention to some of the lovely old buildings which are looking a bit stressed.Guest review byMalcolmUnited Kingdom - 10.0

An old, historic town which has managed to update itself without losing the charm of it's really quite special old stone buildings, with a number of attractive side streets leading to the loch edge. Plenty coffee shops, gift shops etc, and of course the Palace where Mary Queen of Scots was born. Ready access to the canal, railway and motorway to Stirling and Edinburgh, apart from the many other towns in the area. Too many potential attractions to list here.Guest review byRobert - 8.0
