We loved the hotel we stayed in, the walkable neighbourhood by the bay& friendly village store. our children were young adults and so the quiet peaceful environment suited them away from their normal city life. There may be less to do for younger children. the views on route to the coast were spectacular

We only stayed one night at the Colintraive Hotel on our way to Bute but it was a very enjoyable experience. Excellent food and drink with very helpful staff. Hopefully manage to stay 2 night the next time to do a bit of exploring Cowal Peninsular.
There is a card in the bedroom that you fill out with you breakfast requirement. Only mark what you do require or you could end up with one very large breakfast. It caused great hilarity at the breakfast table with the other guests as there was a few that had filled it out wrong.
There is a nice community garden and a folk museum within a easy walk.

Beautiful and peaceful, within reach of many interesting places, good amenities. Some difficult navigating even though small place as not clear where paths were in some instances.
Dined at Tide and Thyme, friendly, welcoming and excellent food.
Had takeaway from Fyne Raja - excellent and prompt collection service. Good value.
Visited Colintraive sculpture park and Carry Farm area, wonderful weather and experience at both

So beautiful, with Bute only a 5 minute ferry ride away.
So beautiful, with Bute only a 5 minute ferry ride away. Excellent for touring and such spectacular scenery. Great roads from Port Appin through Inverary and on to Tighnabruaich...it was a motorbike holiday and thoroughly enjoyable.

I was travelling alone, for work, and received the warmest welcome on my arrival on a gloomy Tuesday evening. I was upgraded to an enormous, corner room with amazing views. Real coffee and cafetiere in room plus homemade shortbread biscuits!! Outstanding dinner and breakfast. Very lovely hosts and staff. I wish I could have stayed longer but I look forward to a return visit. Definitely recommended.

Pleasant location with good views.
Pleasant location with good views. However, the village has limited facilities,, and sadly seems to be struggling to hold on to those it has. Good location for exploring the Cowal Peninsula and for the ferry at Portavadie to take you across to Kintyre.
