- From £193.70 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.9Good - What previous guests thought, 923 reviewsYou are out in the Scottish countryside and it is beautiful! The little town is quaint and worth exploring. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable and a good size. The staff are amazing and so very friendly! Food is good. We had the breakfast as part of our stay and it was very good with a selection of hot and cold offerings, but it is the same each day. The X62 bus is just in town and will take you to Edinburgh round trip for 15 pounds. The pool is a perfect temperature, clean and relaxing. The hotel is beautiful and I loved the little touches of pictures of the previous owner and her animals around the hotel.Guest review byBrendaCanada
- From £124.32 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very good - What previous guests thought, 533 reviewsThe check in experience was seamless with extremely professional staff. The hotel room was a great size with an extremely comfortable bed and a large functional bathroom with a bath. The breakfast was excellent with a continent buffet and personal service for cooked options. Staff were very friendly and professional. We had drinks in the elegant bar that was very cosy on a cold, wet evening. The staff made it a personal experience that we thoroughly enjoyed. Close to town (we ate in town for dinner). Would thoroughly recommend this beautiful, well appointed property.Guest review byLawrenceAustralia

They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was as pleasant as possible. The room was clean, spacious and had everything we needed for our trip. The breakfast was nice (we loved the eggs benedict) and the hotel lobby and bar are lovely. We have never felt such incredible hospitality and would return in a heartbeat if we were to visit Scotland again. Thanks everyone for a fantastic stay!Guest review byCormacIreland

A lovely little village in the Borders area with good eating options and lots of interesting sights in the area including Melrose Abbey, the Eildon Hills, Wallace Monument, Dryburgh Abbey and a great bookshop and cafe in nearby St Boswell. Burt's Inn does a great afternoon tea and an even better dinner. The locals were friendly and helpful as well. It was easy to navigate the area by car.Guest review byEllenAustralia - 10.0
Kelso is an interesting town in its own right .
Kelso is an interesting town in its own right . Plenty of interesting shops , bars , and a square to add to the overall attraction . The Cream Chimneys cafe on the square is first class with interesting innovative dishes and advertises live music on weekend evenings . You would need to make a reservation for this . Nearby Floors Castle is worth a visit , and you can walk along the river which is easy to get to . Kelso would be a good base from which to visit other Border towns . There is plenty of streetside parking .Guest review byjohnUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Jedburgh is a little gem - it’s steeped in history.
Jedburgh is a little gem - it’s steeped in history. It is spotlessly clean - the local people were all very friendly. Two must visits are Mary Queen of Scots home and Jedburgh Castle Jail. We are in Belters Bar - the food was beautiful. The Jedburgh Baguette Co was perfect for lunch - so tasty.Guest review byMoiraUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Our day there coincided with shops day off.
Our day there coincided with shops day off. But not many shops there anyway. We watched the cyclists on Tour of Britain cycling through and had a coffee. We returned to the hotel and visited the Bar for refreshment and a chat to both staff and customers. We had a really enjoyable dinner in the dining room, which has lots of Coldstream Guards memorabilia, all of which was interesting.Guest review byGrahamUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A really nice town, lovely square and some interesting shops (although many don't open Monday as well as Sunday). Loch Carron Weavers on an industrial estate well worth a visit to see the tartans. Many Abbeys and stately homes, and nice riverside spots, within easy reach, and mountain areas to the west.Guest review byPaul
