The city is much more lively than Bastia with a nice art museum a historical museum and several beautiful beaches not far (3 miles) from the city center. Unfortunately, I booked an all day boat trip to Bonifacio which was cancelled due to rough seas. Porticcio is very touristy, it has a beach yes (but a very urban view), can get crowded. There are other beaches 10-15minutes drive from apartment that should be explored and have nice views. We visited A Cupulata - turtle mini zoo which was a nice experience just 25 min drive. It was a great place to stay as it was in a quiet location from where we could admire amazing picturesque views of the mountains. I recommend starting your acquaintance with the market, then visiting the cathedral. After getting to know the cathedral, visit Napoleon's house. Beautiful beaches, but quite expensive. No buses to move around. Be careful with taxis. A ride airport hotel could be 45 eur-80 eur for less than 15 min ride. To move from one hotel to another one in the same area (2 km distance) the ride was 20 eur and ee waited for 1 hour to get the taxi.
