- From £88.81 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very good - What previous guests thought, 320 reviewsIt was very quiet. Only the two of us staying here perhaps because it was a full moon. The rooms are lovely. Good shower and facilities. Fab view from the windows over the bedroom. Parking is onsite and easy. Wifi only available in the reception area. Pool was lovely for a swim and the Pisco Sours were great. The breakfast included cereal, yoghurt, eggs, ham, cheese and bread. The staff were helpful and used google translate to help us. we arrived on a Monday and did not know that everywhere is closed to food after 5pm on Mondays - be warned. some places were open on Tuesday’s.Guest review byJESSLIZQUINNAustralia

Lovely spot in Elqui Valley and very much worth a visit.
Lovely spot in Elqui Valley and very much worth a visit. However, be forewarned if you are not fluent in Spanish and are going for stargazing. We went to the observatory and planetarium and were disappointed to find no English explanation anywhere at all. Nada. My Spanish wasn't good enough to derive much comprehension or pleasure from the narrator's talk on the night sky, as amazing as it was to see. Chileans have a distinctive accent that drops syllables and speak very fast. The guide showed no concern or mercy, unlike most other Chileans we met who slowed down, repeated words, etc. Another bilingual tourist tried gamely to keep us informed. I did NOT expect much English to be spoken in Chile, of course, but I'd hoped/expected that a tourist attraction with an international reputation would be different. Weeks before we travelled we emailed to ask if there was any English offered and never received a reply. Btw, there was plenty of English in various museums we visited in Santiago and an English audiotour at Neruda's incredible Isla Negra home. More annoying at the observatory tho' was that after the stargazing the whole audience was herded to an area where people were exhorted to buy corny souvenir photos. Unluckily for us, the strangers who shared our van up to the mountain top opted for the pix and we waited 75 minutes in the van til they showed up. Even the driver was fed up but he seemed unable to figure out what to do.Guest review byAnnCanada - 10.0
This is a magical place. Full of vegetation and nature.
This is a magical place. Full of vegetation and nature. Stunning views over the valley. Take the tour of Pisco Mistral but I recommend choosing a different restaurant as Mistral restaurant is over priced for tourists. Locals dined with us and told us there a better authentic restaurants in the town. Next time we will get the food right. When in Elqui visit the observatories. It will be forever in my memory.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0
It is a small town with character.
It is a small town with character. You can reach the whole area if you rent a car, and enjoy places like the Artisan Market of Horcón, some of the Pisco distilleries, historical sites, etc. Tons of places to eat around the town Square with excellent food and ice cream. Our stargazing tour in Mamalluca Observatory was excellent. The Gabriela Mistral Museum is informative, easy to follow, and at the best international level.Guest review byXimenaUnited States - 10.0
Pisco Elqui is a good hub for visiting the Valle del Elqui.
Pisco Elqui is a good hub for visiting the Valle del Elqui. Continuing the road you have the chance to visit an amazing winery (Viñedos de Alcohuaz) which has a shop with some really special wines (voted as Chile's best Syrah) and an (expensive, didn't do it) tour. On the way back make sure to stop at the small road-side house of Piuquenes Elqui Late Harvest where two former employees of the Alcohuaz vineyard make their own late harvest and are willing to tell you in detail about the valley and its wine-making tradition. In Pisco Elqui itself visiting the Pisco-makers of Doña Josefa" is a must. The family members guide you through an artisanal Pisco-making factory and the pisco you buy is only sold there, so make you sure you get some. Pisco Elqui's town square has some nice artisanal markets with interesting local products worth a visit. Two other absolute favorites of mine are Cavas del Valle for amazing wines (in particular the Moscatel ones) and the beer garden of Cerveceria Guayacan in Diaguitas (amazing beers, great service, good food and very nice setting).Guest review bySebastianChile - 10.0
Vicuña is not much of a destination by itself, but has shops...
Vicuña is not much of a destination by itself, but has shops and restaurants clustered around a central plaza. I recommend staying there as a base for exploring Elqui Valley. I suggest a few days in Vicuña for the vineyards and other valley sights, and a couple of days in a beachfront hotel in La Serena before departing.Guest review byGaryUnited States - 2.0
This place is a lie, images in the site are not what it...
This place is a lie, images in the site are not what it looks like when arriving. Most images are CGI or from other places. Internet runs like a snail even at the coffee room. Overpriced for what they are offering. The room is too hot, there is no safe as mentioned on the site. No laundry service, no touristic information, not even a tour through the facility when arriving. It is listed as a Hotel when not even offer a room service. All staff leave at 8 pm (good luck if you did not have dinner). Staff members just blame the current pandemic situation but they do not advice or provide any additional information on surrounding areas (lack of ideas to assist guest in case they need it). Room floor was noise, felt like walking on cracked glass. Behind the pool looks like they have a junk yard (broken chairs, tables, washers). Staff members only excuses that they are reforming the place. Power was out for about 5 hours during our last day, I never was informed, I asked that I needed to charge my laptop to keep working. They send me for few hours to another near facility so I could charge my laptop to keep working. The administrator don't know how to resolve situations and had lack of empathy for their guest. I DO NOT recommend this place for family with kids!!Guest review byMarianoChile
