- From £303.51 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 354 reviewsWe had an amazing stay at Nira Alpina! Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary room upgrade. The hotel’s SPA is excellent, everything was spotlessly clean, and the overall atmosphere was very welcoming. The reception staff was incredibly friendly, polite, and helpful, making us feel truly valued as guests. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this hotel to everyone. One of the biggest advantages of Nira Alpina is its perfect ski-in/ski-out location. The hotel has direct access to the cable car, allowing guests to head straight to the slopes. There are also beginner-friendly slopes nearby, making it a great choice for all skill levels. Additionally, guests can purchase a ski pass at a discounted rate through the hotel, which is a great bonus! Another great convenience is the ski equipment shop located right next to the hotel, with direct access from the building, making it easy to rent or buy any necessary gear. Both the bakery and the restaurant at the hotel were outstanding, offering delicious food and great service. We didn’t book a transfer from St. Moritz train station as we weren’t aware that the hotel provided this service. However, on our departure, they kindly offered and arranged a complimentary transfer for us. Additionally, we were granted a complimentary late check-out, which made our departure even more comfortable. Our stay at Nira Alpina was exceptional, and we would love to return in the future!Guest review byAigulKazakhstan

Very expensive town with a mixture of nice Swiss...
Very expensive town with a mixture of nice Swiss architecture and horrible apartment blocks that look they come from North Korea. Very expensive and in some ways, hard to see what the fuss is about. There are many nice towns in Europe and this was not the prettiest. It's famous for people who are rich and famous but if that's not you, I'd suggest skipping it.Guest review byKarlUnited States - 8.0
Pontresina is a pretty little town and so much nicer, more...
Pontresina is a pretty little town and so much nicer, more picturesque and less expensive than say, St Moritz, unless you are after the glamour and „status“ that comes with mixing with the jet-setters there. The main reason we have always stayed here though is the central location with easy access to and from anywhere in the Engadine and its attractive side valleys. Come here for nature and outdoor activities, not for shopping or night life 🙂Guest review byAlanSwitzerland - 10.0
Great place to stay if you are visiting St Moritz.
Great place to stay if you are visiting St Moritz. If you are staying in St Moritz Samedan is a great option because it’s cheaper, only 7 minutes away by train and many hotels are just a short walk from the railway station unlike in St Moritz where you will have to take a bus or a taxi if you have luggage to get to the hotelGuest review byArunIndia - 10.0

There is a great local bakery : Bäckerei / Konditorei Piccolo (Bakery / Pastry).... we visited a couple of times to get filled rolls and drinks to take with us on trips up the mountains. The lady who works there was incredible helpful and friendly even though we had a slight language barrier with me only speaking English. Our fussy teen through the rolls were very tasty. The local buildings are full of history and a walk around the town provides interesting anecdotes to times gone by, written on several buildings. The wild flower meadows in June are beautiful and we found trips up into the mountains well worth it... they are spectacular in the summer.Guest review byGraemeUnited Kingdom - 8.0

A classic hotel with history, which alone makes it worth spending the night there. In addition, in a fantastic location that in the past was only accessible to the happy few. The hotel seems to have aged a bit, but the comfortable rooms, grandeur and views make it worth a visit. an excellent place to start mountain tours or bike tours and explore the Engadin.Guest review byMarcelGermany - 10.0

Silvaplana is very small and quiet village: supermarket, bakery, ski shop and a couple of restaurants. Cross country ski trails are 10 min walk across the bridge and there are regular buses to take you around to nearby villages. It was perfect place for star gazing and having quality family time :)Guest review byAlonaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Family friendly, down to earth place.
Family friendly, down to earth place. Beautiful old village with amazing large houses. Skiing great, free ski bus. Small ski bar on top of Albanas. Several shops in Zuoz. Good restaurants (Crush Alva and Dorta). Muottas Muragl is worth a visit in good weather.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
La Punt Chamues-Ch is a small but lovely Engadine town.
La Punt Chamues-Ch is a small but lovely Engadine town. Away from the noise and bustle of St. Moritz but close enough to the skiing areas to be able to get to. It is quiet, charming, in an excellent location especially for cross-country skiing. There is a small grocery store and a bakery in town so that one does not have to go somewhere to shop. There is also a sports store to rent skis and other outdoor stuff. Great public transportation. Lots of sun and beautiful scenery that one can almost step out of the door to be in. Then Engadine Cross Country Ski Marathon goes right through town and one can easily get on the trail from there. There are a few restaurants in the town including the Hotel Krone which is excellent and Müsellaswhich is a small restaurant with excellent homemade Apulian food. The town is lovely and the people there are all very nice. What more do you want?Guest review byGeorgeSwitzerland - 8.0

We did not realize that May is a slow shoulder month when many facilities are closed including the gondola. We only ate out once and that was upon our arrival. The two evenings and full day there, we purchased food from the market and prepared in our townhouse. We had a lovely walk around the lake and attended the only open art museum which was really good (Segantini Museum).Guest review byLeanneUnited States - 10.0
We stayed in Pontresina for 5 nights in early October.
We stayed in Pontresina for 5 nights in early October. It is a charming town. We arrived by train, and Pontresina makes an excellent place to stay if you want to experience the Bernina Express train journey. The railway station is within walking distance of most of the accommodation, but it would be a struggle with luggage. Our hotel had its own vehicle for transfers, I think most hotels offer the same. When we were there (early October) most of the other travellers were Swiss. While there were plenty of options in terms of restaurants, most visitors were outdoor/ nature loving folk who went for a quiet meal in the evening and then got a good night’s sleep. So the town was very quiet at night, which suited us perfectly. A pass for local transport: trains/ busses/ furnicular railways/ cable cars was included in our hotel tarrif, and this was fabulous. From Pontresina we walked to St Moritz one day and enjoyed the St Moritz cable car, then returned to Pontresina by bus. On another day we caught the train Bernina Diavolezza and the cable car to view the Morteratsch Glacier. We used the “Komoot” app to find other hikes.Guest review byKathrynAustralia
